Bahrain, Manama 23December 2012 - Standard Chartered Bank in Bahrain appointed Hussain Abdulla Isa as the new Head of Islamic Banking for Consumers and Adel Fadhul as Head of Wholesale Banking Operations. Hussain Abdulla Isa will be leading the Bank's strategy in developing its Consumer Islamic Banking business in the Kingdom and increase its share in the market. Adel will be leading the Bank's strategy in developing product delivery platforms in Bahrain as well as ensuring adherence to customer service standards and performance measures.

Hussain Abdulla Isa, who has been with Standard Chartered in Bahrain for more than 13 years, has a wide experience in managing large distribution teams both in branches and field sales. He was responsible in leading a sales team that bounced back in a very short time post the crisis in Bahrain last year and improved the lendingsales momentum. In his new role, Hussain will drive the Bank's growth strategy for Islamic banking in the local market and leverage its global presence to the benefit of Bahrain.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank in Bahrain, Adel Fadhul was the Executive Manager for Operation at Masraf Al Rayan in Qatar. He also worked at some of the leading local and regional organizations. Adel holds an MBA in Business Administration from International University, Missouri, USA, through the Dubai campus and a Doctoral Thesis titled "Converting Traditional Banks in UAE to the New Banking Era" from Bundelkhand University, Jhansi India. Adel will lead Wholesale Banking Operations – Bahrain and will mainly focus on strategic oversight and the respective product delivery platforms, in addition to ensure implementation and adherence to the Group's risk and control policies, customer service standards, and performance measures Additionally, Adel will look after CMO, CSG, Trade Operations, and Security Services.
Both Hussain and Adel are located at Standard Chartered Bank's main office in Manama, Bahrain. Hussain will be reporting directly to Regional Head of Consumer Banking in Bahrain, Sai Narain CDK and Global Head of Islamic Banking, Wasim Saifi; while Adel will report to Bahrain's Chief Information Officer, Stefan Corera Bahrain and Head of Wholesale Bank Operations, West, Thompson Steve.
