Standard Chartered Perfect Match Competition Terms and Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering into the Group Competition.
Competition Terms and Conditions
1.3. The Competition is open to all age groups but if you are under 18 years old, you will need the permission of your parents or legal guardians to enter into the Competition and these Terms and Conditions.
1.4. Employees of the Bank or its Group and employees of Liverpool Football Club (“LFC”) or its Group are not eligible to enter this Competition.
2.1 You may enter the Competition on the Channel by posting your email address, submitting who you think might win the challenge of the day, and by answering a question about blindness on our competition page:
2.2 The Competition has 3 stages, with 3 sets of questions. Stage 1 will be open from 2:30pm on Tuesday 25 March to 9.30am on Wedneday 26 March. Stage 2 will be open from 2.30pm on Wednesday 26 March to 9.30am on Thursday 27 March. Stage 3 will be open from 2.30pm on Thursday 27 March to 9.30am on Friday 28 March.
2.3 You may enter the 3 stages of the Competition as many times as you like during the periods for entry, set out in Clause 2.2 above. However, you will be restricted to one entry per hour.
2.4 The Bank may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any entry which the Bank considers to have been made in breach of these Terms and Conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, a failure to obtain parental consent for entrants under 18, breach of Competition eligibility criteria, failure to submit an original entry and/or submission of an entry which is obscene, libellous, defamatory, harassing or threatening.
2.5 The Bank is not responsible for entries to the Competition that cannot be processed due to any technical or operational reasons. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incorrect, incomplete, for any reason whatsoever, will not be eligible.
2.6 The Bank is not responsible for content posted by entrants or for any comments made by members of the public in relation to the entrants or their content posted on the Channel. All opinions and comments expressed by users of the Channel are expressed in their individual capacities and not as representatives of the Bank. If an opinion and comment is offensive, libellous or slanderous the Bank will use all reasonable endeavours to remove such a comment or opinion, upon being notified of the same in writing (subject to the terms and conditions of the Channel).
3.1 The first entrant who submits the correct answers to the two questions in stage 1 of the Competition is the winner of stage 1. The first entrant who submits the correct answers to the two questions in stage 2 of the Competition is the winner of stage 2. The first entrant who submits the correct answers to the two questions in stage 3 of the Competition is the winner of stage 3.
3.2 Each of the 3 winners will receive a signed, limited edition “Seeing is Believing” shirt.
3.3 Prizes are non-transferable and subject to availability. 3.4 The winner of stage 1 of the competition will be notified via email on Wednesday 26 March. The winner of stage 2 of the competition will be notified via email on Thursday 27 March. The winner of stage 3 of the competition will be notified via email on Friday 28 March.
3.5 Participants under 18 years of age or not of full legal age (a "Minor") must seek parental or legal guardian permission before applying and participating in the Contest and adhering to the Terms and Conditions. Prizes awarded to minors will be sent in the name of the parent or legal guardian for the benefit of the minor. The parents or legal guardians, are responsible for ensuring that they comply with all the applicable tax laws and filing requirements.
3.6 The Bank shall have no liability, and you will indemnify the Bank from and against any liability, loss, claim, damage or costs of any kind (including legal costs) to any person or entity due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize or participation in the Competition.
4.1 All promotional images produced by the Bank or any member of the Bank’s Group and associated with the Competition, entrants, winners and prizes will be the property of the Bank.
5.1 You agree that personal information collected by the Bank about you can be used by the Bank, and also disclosed to, and used by, persons who are involved in operating or promoting the Competition (including other members of the Bank’s Group and their service providers). Such disclosure may require the transfer of your personal information to parties located in countries that do not offer the same level of data protection as your resident country. However, the Bank will take steps to ensure that parties to whom your personal information is transferred will treat your personal information securely and confidentially and only use such personal information for the purposes set out herein. Your personal information will not be shared with any other third party for purposes outside the operation or promotion of the Competition, including marketing.
5.2 You acknowledge that the Bank does not own, control or host the Channel and the relevant privacy notice found at the Channel will apply.
6.1 The Bank reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, and/or terminate the Competition (or part thereof) for any reason, including if a computer virus, bug, unauthorised human intervention or other cause (a “Disrupting Event”) corrupts or impairs the administration, security, fairness, judging, or proper play of the Competition. If the Competition is so modified, suspended or terminated, the Bank reserves the right to award prizes to an entrant from among all entries received prior to the Disrupting Event.
6.2 For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, “Group” means, in relation to the Bank:
(a) any person, body corporate, partnership, firm or other entity in which the Bank directly or indirectly:
(i) owns more than half the capital or business assets;
(ii) has the power to exercise fifty percent (50%) or more of the voting rights;
(iii) has the legal power to direct or cause the direction or general management or affairs;
(iv) has the power to appoint more than half the members of the supervisory board, board of directors or other legally representative body; or
(v) has the right to manage the business.
(b) any person, body corporate, partnership, firm or other entity which directly or indirectly has in or over the Bank the rights or powers listed in (a) above (a “Controller"); and/or
(c) any person, body corporate, partnership, firm or other entity in which a Controller directly or indirectly has the rights or powers listed in Clause 6.2(a) above.
6.3 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
