Anton Chan

As RMB Specialist, Financial Markets at Standard Chartered Bank Americas, Anton Chan is responsible for advising Americas based clients on the potential implications surrounding China’s financial market developments and RMB internationalization. Based in New York, Anton counsels clients on strategic issues around cross boarder investing and funding, and a variety of topics such as hedging RMB financial markets exposures, RMB FX and interest rates outlook.

Anton has experience in both onshore and offshore China markets. He has over 10 years of experience in offering financial markets solutions to Multinational Corporations and advising clients on RMB markets and regulations in New York, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Anton is a member of the Working Group on U.S. RMB Trading and Clearing where he actively identifies opportunities to develop the use of the currency in the U.S. Anton has spoken about the market implications surrounding China’s reforms and opening-up at various events including AFP, SIFMA, IBAC (International Bankers Association of California), CAF (Corporação Andina de Fomento) Conference, TMA HK (Treasury Markets Association).

Anton was educated at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he spent four months at Wharton for an exchange program. He also spent two years volunteering in micro-finance and social venture initiatives.
