Meet the author

Gay has spent over 30 years working within the financial services industry, the international capital markets and with the financial regulator. She spent seven years with the Financial Services Authority from 1998 to 2005, where she was director of markets division, capital markets sector leader, with responsibility for establishing a market-facing division for the supervision of market infrastructure, oversight of market conduct and developing markets policy. From 2005 to 2008, Gay held a number of roles at Citibank, before joining Barclays Capital where she was vice chair of investment banking and investment management. She received an OBE for services to financial services and diversity in 2016.
