Meet the author

Based in Singapore, Simon leads the Bank’s largest business where he is responsible for developing and delivering products and services across corporate finance, financial markets and transaction banking. Simon has extensive experience in our client businesses and across our key markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Before joining Standard Chartered, he held a number of senior roles at HSBC, including Group Managing Director and Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking, CEO of HSBC Middle East and Africa, CEO Korea and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Singapore. Simon is a strong advocate for education and children’s healthcare, where he is active in various organisations such as the Tick Tock Club, a children’s charity at Great Ormond Street Hospital in the United Kingdom. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Singapore Management University, Lee Kong Chian School of Business. Simon holds an MA in Law from the University of Cambridge and is an alumnus of Columbia Business School.
