The Consumer Bank International Graduate Programme is a generalist development programme designed to prepare you for a long-term professional career in financial services and retail banking by providing you with a strong foundation on which to can build your career.
The programme provides you with a platform to create change, to challenge the way things are done, and to define the future of the Bank. During the programme, you will:
- Gain broad insights and exposure to different facets of our Consumer Banking business to enable you to carve a niche for yourself within the Bank
- Undergo a structured skills and knowledge development programme where we work with you to explore and expand your capabilities
- Take on roles and participate in actual projects that have a material impact on how we serve our customers and potentially shape the future of banking

- Build strong networks in the Bank with graduates, colleagues, customers and members of our senior management team.
The programme is designed to prepare you for a challenging role as a future leader, while enabling you to take sensible risks, and explore the different paths that will enable you to shine.
Over the course of 24 months, you can expect to take part in:
- The International Induction Programme (IIP), an Academic Programme (AP), and an International Graduation Programme (IGP), which together lay the foundation for your future success
- 12 months’ worth of role rotations in different business areas providing a thorough understanding of how our Consumer Bank works and where your strengths are best suited
- 12 months’ worth of a Frontline customer-facing rotation that will help you to understand client needs and the different ways in which we can meet them
- Extensive formal and informal learning opportunities that will equip you with the specialist skills and knowledge you need to excel as a banker and future leader.

The programme commences with the International Induction Programme (IIP) held in Singapore. The IIP aims to provide you with a broad overview of the Bank. There will also be a strong focus on personal awareness and relationship-building as you meet with programme participants across the globe, and senior members of our team.
The IIP is followed by a one-week Consumer Banking Academic Programme, in which you will learn the fundamentals of our business and participate in networking events with past graduates and members of our CB management team.
Back in your home country, you will commence a series of four role rotations across our Consumer Bank where you will explore your strengths and interests.
You’ll learn about the features and benefits of different products in our portfolio, and get involved in product development.
You’ll learn about the different risk and control functions in our Consumer Bank, and how they impact our product design, governance and decision-making process.
You’ll focus on improving our productivity, quality and customer service while developing a broad understanding of our branch and banking operations and operational risk.
Your twelve months in a Frontline, customer-facing role will enable you to truly understand the core of our business and the value of brand promise of Here For Good. You will be directly involved in building sustainable relationships with our customers and will have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learnt to deliver real value for our customers whilst also contributing to the financial performance of the Bank.
A structured development programme complements your role rotations, enhancing your knowledge and skills across technical, personal, management and leadership capabilities
You will undertake a combination of classroom and online learning which includes general learning modules, as well as those aligned specifically to the role to which you aspire.
In addition to business rotations, you will have opportunities to collaborate with graduates from other markets, to support business initiatives in your country, and to support and drive projects that will provide additional opportunities to build relationships with people while improving your understanding of our business.
An intensive graduation programme will mark the end of your 24-month journey through the International Graduate Programme, preparing you for your deployment role in the Bank. This deployment will be your first opportunity to leverage the personal brand you have developed across the two-year learning journey, to demonstrate the value you bring to any role and to showcase your potential for bigger roles.

1. Online registration
The first step is to register online, providing basic information about yourself
2. Online assessments and application
Once you’ve registered, you will be invited to complete a series of online assessments.
The abstract and numerical reasoning tests are administered together. They are timed assessments and you will need to complete these tests in order to progress with your application.
Abstract Reasoning Test
This assessment measures your abstract reasoning abilities, which are important when solving problems and analysing information.
Numerical Reasoning Test
This assessment measures your numerical reasoning abilities in a business context, such as tables and charts typically found in reports and the financial press.
Following the completion of the abstract and numerical reasoning tests, you’ll then be asked to complete the online application form, providing additional information such as your academic history, work experience and attaching your CV/Resume. Upon submission of this, your application form and results will be reviewed. We aim to advise you as soon as possible of your application status; generally this is within two days however this may take longer during peak application times.
Work-related Strengths Assessment
If you are successful after review of your application and assessment results, you will be invited to complete a work-related strengths questionnaire. This assessment examines your personal preferences and the strengths, helping us to understand where you are likely to thrive.
Please note: We employ a policy of re-testing. This means we may require you to repeat any or all of our online assessments should you progress to a later stage of the application process.
3. Telephone interview
On review of your academic education, experiences and assessment results, a decision to proceed to interview will be made. There will be an opportunity to participate in a telephone interview may be extended. This interview is your opportunity to tell us about your achievements and strengths, and for you to ask us any questions you may have.
4. Final assessments
Following the telephone interview, selected applicants will be invited to take part in various assessments designed to further determine your suitability for the programme.
You will be presented with a business scenario, along with various documents. You'll then be asked to respond to relevant questions in order to help us understand how you analyse and interpret information. This assessment will be conducted online.
Group exercise/structured interview
You will be asked to participate in a group discussion or structured interview designed to help us understand how you communicate and work with others. This assessment will be conducted either at our office or via teleconference / videoconference, depending on your location.
You will be asked to give a presentation based on information provided. To understand your motivations and suitability for working at the Bank, we may also ask you some questions about yourself. We'll also query your understanding of the Bank, and your reasons for choosing a career in the Bank. This assessment will be conducted either at our office or via teleconference / videoconference, depending on your location.
5. Final decision
Once the interview process is complete, we will inform you of our decision, typically within 72 hours.
