We’re now the Main Club Partner of Liverpool FC Women

19 Jul 2019

London. Standard Chartered today announced a gear-change in its sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club Women, moving to the front of their shirt and sees it emerge as Main Club Partner. This multi-year partnership runs in line with the men’s team.

This agreement with the women’s team demonstrates Standard Chartered’s views on the importance of women’s football, and now solidifies their relationship with the Liverpool FC family.

Standard Chartered’s announcement follows the success of the Women’s World Cup, which garnered unprecedented global support from women and men of all ages. It also comes after the recent record investment in the Women’s Super League, as well as investment in European women’s football for the first time, signifying the growing importance of the women’s game.

Emma Sheller, Global Head of Brand and Marketing at Standard Chartered, said: “Nearly 50% of our employees are women and Diversity and Inclusion underpins the Bank’s values. The popularity of women’s football is on the rise – as we’ve just witnessed with the recent Women’s World Cup – and Standard Chartered is excited to be expanding our existing relationship with Liverpool FC Women and work with these elite athletes on some really meaningful partnerships over the next few seasons.

Vicky Jepson, First Team Manager, LFC Women, added: “It’s really encouraging as a team to have the support of a brand like Standard Chartered and for them to take the front position on our shirt. We’re really looking forward to working with them and strengthening our relationship over the next few years.
