Meet the author

Wan Thonh was appointed as the Head of Global Banking, Singapore, Indonesia and ASEAN-South Asia Cluster Markets in February 2020.  She is a member of the Global Banking Management Team and the Singapore Country Management Team.  In this role, she is responsible to drive and execute the strategy for the Standard Chartered Global Banking business and deepen relationships with the Bank’s corporate and institutional clients in Singapore, Indonesia and the ASEAN-South Asia Cluster Markets (Australia, Brunei, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam).


Wan Thonh joined the Bank as Head of Global Banking, Singapore in February 2019.  She has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry, holding a number of senior leadership roles in international banks across transaction banking, capital markets and strategic advisory for corporate and institutional clients.  She joined Standard Chartered from HSBC, where she has been Head of Global Banking, Singapore and Head of Corporates, Financials, and Multinationals Banking for Southeast Asia since 2016.   Prior to that, Wan Thonh had a 15-year career at Citibank and has held senior positions including Head of Financial Institutions and Head of Sales for Transaction Banking Services.


Wan Thonh is Singaporean and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.
