Richard Davis

Richard is the Global Head of Technology Services and is responsible for the Bank’s digital infrastructure and workplace. As the Bank evolves to meet the changing needs of employees and clients, Richard’s experience and capabilities in running IT services are key to enabling the Bank’s technology agenda, whilst ensuring our technology remains robust, secure and resilient, and deliver a world-class colleague experience.

Richard has a strong passion for driving change through people, process innovation and technology. His strategic priorities include the transformation of the Bank’s digital workplace, a shift towards a software defined infrastructure which is secure, resilient and compliant by design, as well as the enablement of the Bank’s Cloud first strategy to facilitate the acceleration of cloud deployments in the Bank, among others. Spanning his services, Richard champions an engineering culture and the adoption of automation technologies – including robotic process automation, smart workflows and machine learning – to enhance efficiencies and increase our speed to market.

Richard joined the Bank in 2008 and has held several management roles, before being appointed to his current role in 2016. Prior to that, he successfully built and led the Production Services Support team responsible for the support and maintenance of all the Bank’s global applications and infrastructure. His background is in Financial Markets.
