Ricky Kaura is the Regional Head of Transaction Banking Asia Pacific, as well as Africa and the Middle East (AME), representing businesses in over forty jurisdictions. This includes responsibilities for the bank’s end to end cash and treasury management, working capital and trade finance/supply chain propositions. The teams include business and product management, commercialization, service delivery, implementation as well as operations and technology delivery. He is also responsible for the Global Transaction Banking Strategy & Business Development and Global Content/Collateral Groups.
The business spans multiple segments including the bank’s largest multi-national Corporate, Bank and Non bank Financial Institutional clients as well as the broader Commercial Banking segments. Solutions encompass clients’ treasury management and working capital solutions in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. Kaura reports to the CEO of Transaction Banking, with joint accountability to the bank’s CEOs for Asia and Africa and Middle East.
Previously, Kaura was with JPMorgan Chase & Co for over two decades, and had been based in the U.S., the U.K., the Netherlands, Japan and Singapore, where he held various business and functional executive roles, including heading the firms’ Treasury & Securities Services division’s Strategy and Business Development/M&A group for Asia Pacific. He held leadership roles including representing one of the firm’s legal entities as President & Representative Director, as well as running the firm’s overall Treasury Services franchise in Japan and ASEAN.
Kaura has led businesses to be recognized as the “Best FinTech / Cash / Trade / Transaction Banking” houses over numerous years, and was elected to the Asian Banker’s “List of Leading Practitioners”, a high profile independent forum recognising leaders who are shaping the financial services industry. He began his career at International Business Machines (IBM), General Electric (USA) and J.P. Morgan before joining Standard Chartered Bank in 2013.
Kaura has lived in Asia for over two decades, and is currently based in Hong Kong.
