Reaching higher through netball
Chayya Gaikwad joined our Goal programme - which empowers women through sport, financial education and life skills - in 2009.
She’s originally from a village in Maharashtra and moved to Asha Sadan - a home for women and girls in distress - when she was 12 years old.
After showing great potential and an avid interest in sports, Chayya was taken on as an assistant coach for the Goal Mumbai programme, where she conducted life skill sessions and coached netball.
She's since been offered an internship at the Bank and shortly after joining us, she moved from Asha Sadan to a hostel for working women. She’s now learning to become independent and money savvy.
