A few things to know before you hit submit.
Are you eligible?
For our Graduate roles, you must have an under graduate degree, be eligible to work permanently in the country that you are applying to. If you are applying for a role in the UAE, we may consider applications from nationals of Middle East and North African countries.
For our Internships, you must be in your second last year of study to apply. We will accept applications from final year students who are required to complete mandatory National or Military Service after graduation. To apply for an Internship position, you must have the legal right to work in the country for which you are applying for the full duration of the internship (student visas or holiday work passes are allowed, provided they are valid for the duration of the internship). We are unable to apply for work permits for any Internship.
As English is the business language of Standard Chartered across the world, you need to be able to speak business level English to apply for our opportunities. Being able to speak more than one language is also an advantage.
Your application experience
The first step in our online process is a short application form. After this you’ll be invited to take our Online Strengths Assessment. This is designed to help you, and us, get a sense of what you’re really good at. As soon as you complete this assessment you’ll receive your ‘Superpower Report’ by email, which will tell you what the assessment says about your unique strengths. In order to make sure we place people in roles that best suit them and what they’re good at, we’re on the lookout for a certain combination of strengths.
Everyone who passes the Strengths Assessment will be invited to take our Abstract and Numerical aptitude tests.
To help, you can get ready for your aptitude tests by taking practices tests – click here to take a practice assessment.
When you’re ready to take the test, find a comfortable, quiet place where you won’t be distracted. As you’ll need to respond quickly to certain questions, we suggest using a laptop or desktop with a mouse or trackpad, rather than a mobile phone.
Once you’ve passed the Abstract and Numerical tests, the last online stage of the process is a strengths based video interview. This is a chance for us to see the real you. We don’t want pre-prepared answers, we want to get a sense of your passions and energy, so be yourself.
After that we’ll invite you to meet with us one-on-one at our offices (or online via Skype or FaceTime if we’re not in the same country).
You can apply by selecting Apply Now and search to find the right Graduate or Internship opportunity for you.
At any stage in the process please let us know if you have any special requirement regarding your application or tests.
You can do that by contacting us here. We will make whatever provisions we can to help you to complete the application and tests.
