Alert Services

What is Alert Service?

You can subscribe to this service, and start receiving SMS and/or email alerts after you conduct transactions via automated channels (Standard Chartered Online Banking, automated phone banking, ATM) on your deposit accounts with us, after you make purchases with your ATM cards, as well as reminding you on important matters that happen to your accounts.

What types of alerts are available?

  1. Deposit Account Transaction Alerts
    • Bill Payment Alert
    • This alert notifies you after a bill payment is made with your designated bank account via online banking, automated phone banking or ATM.

    • Cash Withdrawal Alert
    • This alert notifies you after a cash withdrawal is made with your designated bank account via ATM.

    • Fund Transfer Alert
    • This alert notifies you after a fund transfer is made with your designated bank account via online banking, automated phone banking or ATM.

    • Purchase Alert
    • This alert notifies you after a purchase is made with your designated bank account via EPS, UnionPay or Maestro networks.

  2. Deposit Account Reminder Alerts
    • Cheque Returned Alert
    • This alert notifies you after a cheque issued from/deposited to your designated bank account is returned.

  3. Credit Card Reminder Alerts
    • Payment Due Date Alert
    • The alert reminds you of the payment due date of your designated credit cards. You can set when you want to receive the alert by number of days before due date.

How to subscribe to the services?

  • Login Standard Chartered Online Banking and select "SMS Alert Service" on the left menu. Follow screen instructions to subscribe to the service.
  • You may subscribe to different alerts for each of your account/credit card and set up alert details (such as the triggering amount for each transaction alert and number of days for the credit card payment due date alert).
  • If the subscription is completed before 8pm on business days, the alert will be effective from next day onwards.
  • Credit Card Payment Due Date alert will be effective starting from the next statement issued after service subscription.

How to modify my alert settings or add my new accounts/credit cards for receiving alerts?

  1. Access "SMS Alert Service" after login to Standard Chartered Online Banking
  2. Select "Manage Your Alerts"
  3. Select "Banking Account" or "Credit Card"
  4. Select "View Alerts"
  5. Select an account or credit card
  6. Select "Customize Alert Conditions"
  7. Modify the alert settings for each account/credit card and alert type

How to suspend/reactivate my alert services?

  1. Access "SMS Alert Service" after login to Standard Chartered Online Banking
  2. Select "Manage Your Alerts"
  1. To stop receiving all alerts, select "Suspend"
  2. To reactivate the services, select "Resume". Modify alert settings if needed.

Do I need to have both my mobile number and email address in your record in order to use this service?

  • No. You just need to have a valid mobile phone number in the Bank's records. You may choose to receive both SMS and email alerts or just one of them.
