Reverse Mortgage Programme (“Programme”)


The Reverse Mortgage Programme operated by the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited or its subsidiary (“HKMC”) is aimed for property owners who are aged 55 or above (or aged 60 or above for subsidised sale flats with unpaid land premium), to convert their residential property(ies) and life insurance policy(ies) into cash and/or a regular stream of monthly payouts - while they can live in the property for the rest of their life while no repayment during lifetime!

Key Product Features and Benefits

  • Flexible payment term – stable monthly payouts for either a fixed period of 10, 15 or 20 years or throughout entire life and/or lump-sum payout – for specific purposes
  • Residing in the property – continue residing in the property for the rest of life after taking out a reverse mortgage loan
  • No repayment during lifetime^
  • Release value of life insurance policy – enjoy higher amount of monthly payout
  • Upon loan termination – surplus arising from sale proceeds of the property after loan repayment will be given to personal representatives

  1. The promotion period is valid from 28 September 2017 to 31 December 2017(both dates inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”).
  2. Clients who obtain the Counselling Certificate issued by the Reverse Mortgage Counsellors and complete the Application Form for Reverse Mortgage Loan and submit the same to the Bank will be entitled to HK$300 supermarket voucher.
  3. Use of supermarket voucher is subject to expiry date as specified on the supermarket voucher and further and specific terms and conditions of the merchant. Please contact the merchant for details.
  4. The supermarket vouchers are not redeemable for cash, exchangeable or transferable.
  5. Clients understand and accept that the Bank is not the supplier of the products and/or services provided under or in connection with this offer. The Bank shall have no liability relating to any aspect of the products and/or services including, without limitation, their quality and the supply, the descriptions of goods and/or services provided by the merchant, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the promotion of the offer or in making available the offer or the products and/or services under the offer, by the merchant, its employees, officers or agents.
  6. The offer is available on a first-come-first-served basis while stock lasts. The Bank reserves the right to offer an alternative voucher as replacement in case of shortage.
  7. Each client will be entitled to this offer once only.
  8. The Bank reserves the right to alter, extend or terminate the offer and amend the terms and conditions at any time. All matters or disputes in connection with the offer set out in these terms and conditions will be subject to the final decision of the Bank.
  9. In case of any discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
