Q : What is Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™?
A : Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ are the secure online payment services that provide you with a personal password for your Standard Chartered Credit Cards, giving you added assurance that only you can use your Standard Chartered Credit Cards to make purchases over the internet.
  Turn on your computer, connect to the Internet and get out your Standard Chartered Credit Card.
  Use Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ as easily as you use your PIN at an ATM.

Registering for Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™
1. Q : Can I register with my existing Standard Chartered Credit Card or do I need to apply for a new one?
A : You can register any of your existing Standard Chartered VISA and MasterCard.
2. Q : Can I register more than one Standard Chartered VISA or MasterCard?
A : Yes, you can register all of your Standard Chartered VISA and MasterCard.
3. Q : How to register Standard Chartered Credit Card’s Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™?
A :
1. Go to your Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ registration web page.
2. Accept the Terms and Conditions from Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited for Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ after you read and agree.
3. Provide your Standard Chartered VISA or MasterCard Card number, expiration date and the personal authentication information specified by Standard Chartered Credit Card.
4. Enter your Personal Message  that will ensure your are using the Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ with Standard Chartered Credit Card at the time of purchase.
5. Create a password or SecureCode™ with any combination of 6-10 characters and must contain at least 1 numeric & 1 alphabet. You will need to use this to confirm your identity each time you make a purchase.
6. We will display a screen to confirm that your registration is complete.
Shop online with the same trust and confidence you expect when you use your Standard Chartered VISA and MasterCard Credit Cards at stores in the physical world.
4. Q : My spouse and I both have the same credit card account number. How does Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ work for both of us?
A : Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™would work for the principal cardholder only. Only the principal cardholder of your card will register and create your own password or SecureCode™.
5. Q : Should my supplementary Cardholder register for the service?
A : Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ would only work for the principal cardholder of your card.
6. Q : If I lost my VISA or MasterCard Credit Card which was registered already, do I need to register with Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ when I receive a new card?
A : Yes, you will need to register again with the new Card to access Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™.
7. Q : When my VISA or MasterCard credit card is expired and renewed, do I need to re-register with the Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ when I receive the renewal card?
A : No, you will not need to re-register with Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA nor MasterCard® SecureCode™ upon card renewal.
8. Q : Is there any charge for registration?
A : No, Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ are totally FREE of charge to our Cardholders.

Using Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™
1. Q : After I register, how long does it take for Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™to become active in my Standard Chartered VISA or MasterCard?
A : The added protection of Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ are available as soon as Standard Chartered Credit Card confirms that your registration is successful.
2. Q : Once I have registered, how do I use Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ when I shop online?
A : Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ provide you with a password and SecureCode™ respectively to protect your online transactions, just like you use your PIN at an ATM.
1. Select the goods or services you want from a Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ online store and proceed to the payment page.
2. Enter your Standard Chartered VISA or MasterCard Card number and expiration date. The online store will then connect with us to check if your Card is registered for Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™.
3. Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ pop up window will appear. Check your Personal Message to make sure you are dealing with Standard Chartered Credit Card.
4. After verification, enter your Verified by VISA password or MasterCard® SecureCode™.
5. When verification is complete, the online store will send a confirmation to you.
3. Q : Where can I shop with Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™?
A : Look for the Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ mark on participating online stores or check the VISA website: www.visa.com.hk and the MasterCard website: www.mastercard.com/securecd.
4. Q : How will the online store know that I have Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™?
A : Participating online stores will automatically recognize your VISA or MasterCard Card number if you have registered it for Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™.
5. Q : Can I get the benefit of Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ security at online stores that are not participating in the service?
A : No. However, the service has become available to most online stores since April 2003.
6. Q : Do I need any special equipment or software on my computer?
A : All you need is an Internet connection and Internet Explorer browser software version 6.0 or above. To find out if your browser is compatible, go to the "Help" menu on the upper right-hand side of your browser and select the "About" option. It should tell you what version is installed on your computer.
7. Q : Can I use Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ from any computer?
A : You can use Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™ at any PC that has an Internet connection and Internet Explorer browser software version 6.0 or above.
8. Q : What is a Personal Message?
A : When you register for either Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™, you may be asked to create a Personal Message. When you pay online, always look for this Personal Message to ensure that you are using the valid Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ with Standard Chartered Credit Card. If you register through participating online stores, please note that a default personal message “Welcome” will be given. You should change it by accessing our web-site (www.standardchartered.com.hk) and click Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ "Account Assistant" Section to change the personal message. The Personal Message cannot be the same with the password or SecureCode™.

About the password and SecureCode™ for Standard Chartered Credit Card's Verified by VISA and MasterCard® SecureCode™
1. Q : Is there any special requirement in setting the password or SecureCode™ for the Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ respectively?
A : The password or SecureCode™ should be at least 6-10 characters. It should contain at least 1 numeric and 1 alphabet (with no spaces or symbols in between). The password or SecureCode™ is upper and lower case sensitive. Do not use easy-to-guess numbers (such as your birthdays and phone numbers) or repetitive numerics and/or alphabets as your password or SecureCode™.
2. Q : Can I change my password or SecureCode™ once registered?
A : Yes, you can change your password or SecureCode™ at any time by accessing our web-site (www.standardchartered.com.hk) and click Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ "Account Assistant" Section to change the password or SecureCode™.
3. Q : Where should I report if I forget my password or SecureCode™?
A : You may access our web-site (www.standardchartered.com.hk) and click Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ “Forget your password" Section, you can reset the password or SecureCode™ by providing the correct response.
4. Q : If I suspect someone has stolen my password/SecureCode™ or used it to make fraudulent purchases, what should I do?
A : Contact our Standard Chartered Credit Card 24-hour Customer Service Hotline at 2886 4111 immediately.
5. Q : Can I cancel the service after registered?
  A : Yes, you can cancel the service at any time by accessing our web-site (www.standardchartered.com.hk) and click Verified by VISA or MasterCard® SecureCode™ “Account Assistant” Section to cancel the service.
