Terms and Conditions for Referral Offers to Referrer of Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program

General Terms and Conditions for Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program (“Online Referral Program”)
  1. The promotion period is from 1 July 2018 to 30 September 2018, both dates inclusive (“Promotion Period“).
  2. To be eligible to participate in an Online Referral Program, a referrer must be an existing client of the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited (the “Bank“)(the “Referrer“). (i) Business Banking clients,(ii) Private Bank clients (iii) clients who are solely holding Standard Chartered Business Card and/or Standard Chartered Corporate Card, and/or (iv) designated frontline staff of the Bank, are not eligible as a “Referrer” under this Online Referral Program.
  3. To be eligible to participate in the Online Referral Program, (a) (i) a referee who participates in Priority Banking Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program and Premium Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program must NOT hold any product or service with or distributed by the Bank (including but not limited to deposit account, investment services and insurance products underwritten by third party insurer) in the past 12 months from the date of New Service (as defined in Clause 4 below) sign up except Standard Chartered Credit Cards(as defined in Clause 4 below); and (ii) a referee who participates in Credit Card Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program must not currently hold, or must not have cancelled Standard Chartered Credit Card, except supplementary cards, Standard Chartered Business Card and Standard Chartered Corporate Card in the past 6 months from the date of approval of the Designated Credit Cards (as defined in Clause 4 below)(“New Cardholder“) ( the “Referee” ), and (b) the Referee must be the Primary Account Holder either in sole name or joint name of the New Service(s) that is/are applied. For the avoidance of doubt, the requirement in this Clause 3 does not apply to the Salary BonusPack Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program.
  4. “New Service(s)” refers to Priority Banking, Premium programme, Salary BonusPack or Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card AND Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card (each a “New Service“, collectively “New Services“). Standard Chartered Credit Cards refer to Standard Chartered Credit Card or MANHATTAN Credit Card issued by the Bank, including supplementary cards, Standard Chartered Business Card and Standard Chartered Corporate Card (“Standard Chartered Credit Cards“). Standard Chartered Platinum Credit Card and Standard Chartered UnionPay Dual Currency Platinum Credit Card will be defined as Designated Credit Cards (“Designated Credit Cards“) herein below.
  5. To enjoy the Referral Offer (as defined in Clause 7 below), Referrer must make a successful referral of Referee to sign up for the New Service(s) during the Promotion Period and ALL the following requirements must be fulfilled (“Successful Referral“):
    1. Referrer must complete the Online Member-Get-Member Referral Registration Form (the “Online Registration Form”) at sc.com/hk during the Promotion Period prior to the Referee signs up for New Service(s) (unless otherwise specified). Upon successful submission of the Online Registration Form, Referrer will receive an email with a hyperlink and a Referral Number relating to the Online Referral Program. Referrer must forward that email and the Referral Number to Referee.
    2. Referrer continues to be an existing client of the Bank, and maintain valid deposit / credit card account at the time when the Referral Offer is credited to the relevant account as specified below, otherwise, the Bank has the right to forfeit the Referral Offer without prior notice.
    3. Referee must successfully complete the Online Application Form (the “Online Application Form”) for one or more of the New Service(s) the Referee wishes to apply through designated web page as stated in the email or via the hyperlink in the email received and forwarded by Referrer, and input the Referral Number at the time of submission of the Online Application Form during the Promotion Period.
    4. Other than Designated Credit Cards online application, Referee who applies for designated banking services, including Priority Banking, Premium programme and /or Salary BonusPack, upon successful submission of the Online Application Form, he/she will be required to bring all the required documents specified on the Online Application Form with the Referral Number, to any of the Bank’s branches within 14 days to complete the account opening process.
  6. Specific Terms and Conditions apply to each of the above Online Member-Get-Member Referral Programs. There may be additional requirements on the eligibility of Referrers or Referees under each of the above Online Member-Get-Member Referral Programs.   7. Under Priority Banking Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program, Premium Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program, Salary BonusPack Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program and Credit Card Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program, offer under which an eligible Referrer will be entitled to upon fulfilment of respective requirements are referred collectively as Referral Offer (“Referral Offer“). Each Referrer for each Online Referral Program will only be entitled to the Referrer Offer (in the form of Asia Miles or cash rebate) for a maximum of 10 timesonly during the Promotion Period even if the total number of Successful Referrals made under each Online Referral Program during the Promotion Period is more than 10.
  8. If, according to the Bank’s records, Referee fails to complete the requirement in Clause 5c above and/or the Referral Number of the Referrer cannot be successfully recorded in the Bank’s system, or the Referral Number recorded is not correct for whatever reasons, the Referrer will not be entitled to any Referral Offer for that referral.
  9. Referrer who participates in Priority Banking Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program, Premium Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program and/or Salary BonusPack Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program may choose either Asia Miles or cash rebate as Referral Offer. The number of Asia Miles or cash rebate that Referrer may be entitled to is specified in the terms and conditions of the Online Referral Programs respectively.
  10. If Referrer chooses Asia MilesTMas Referral Offer, Referrer must have successfully registered online during the period from 1 July 2018 to 31 October 2018, both dates inclusive (“Registration Period”) with valid Asia MilesTM membership in the name of the Referrer at the Bank’s website at sc.com/hk/AM to enjoy the relevant Asia Miles. For the avoidance of doubt, valid Asia Miles membership account must be held by Referrer and the Bank does not accept any Asia Miles membership accounts that are not held by Referrer for the purpose of crediting of Asia Miles. Successful registration cannot be cancelled or modified. For Referrer for Online Referral Program who has made multiple online registration submissions, only the latest registration record will be taken by the Bank for miles crediting purpose.
  11. Please note that once Referrer has registered for Asia Miles Rewards, Referrer will be regarded as having chosen Asia Miles as Referral Offer(s) if Referrer is entitled to any under the Priority Banking Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program, Premium Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program and/or Salary BonusPack Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program. The Bank will offer the relevant rewards, if any, to Referrer in the form of Asia Miles under the Priority Banking Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program, Premium Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program and/or Salary BonusPack Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program.
  12. Referrer acknowledges that the Asia Miles earned shall be credited to his/her Asia MilesTM membership account by Asia Miles Limited. The Bank will use its best endeavour to provide the necessary information to Asia Miles Limited to facilitate this purpose; however, the Bank makes no warranty that the Asia Miles earned will be accurately credited to the Asia Miles membership account by Asia Miles Limited and accepts no liability for failure or delay in the crediting of Asia Miles to the Referrer’s Asia Miles membership account for any reason beyond the Bank’s control. The Bank accepts no liability relating to the Asia Miles, including but not limited to the expiry date, usage and redemption. The Bank is not obliged to notify you of any changes or latest announcements of Asia Miles Limited. Referrer understands and accepts that the Bank is not the supplier of the Asia Miles membership account of the Asia Miles provided. The Bank shall bear no liability relating to any aspect of the Asia Miles membership account or the Asia Miles, including without limitation, the supply, the descriptions of the Asia Miles membership account and the Asia Miles provided by merchant, any false trade description, misrepresentation, mis-statement, omission, unauthorized representation, unfair trade practices or conduct in connection with the Asia Miles membership account or the Asia Miles provided by the merchant, its employees, officers or agents.
  14. Asia Miles earned cannot be converted into bonus points or cash rebate and are non-transferable.
  15. Referrers cannot refer themselves as new clients. Referrers and Referees cannot refer each other to sign up any of New Services. To be eligible for the Referral Offer, the Referee who has been successfully referred by one Referrer cannot be repeatedly referred by the same Referrer or other Referrer(s).
  16. If Referrer is entitled to the Referral Offer as well as other promotional offers, the Bank reserves the right to grant the Referrer one of or part of the prevailing offer or other offers. Separate Terms and Conditions apply to other promotional offers. Please check with the Bank’s staff for details.
  17. For Referee who has successfully signed up for Priority Banking or Premium, if the average daily Relationship Balance of Referee within the quarter falls below the amount determined by the Bank, quarterly maintenance fee will be charged. For details, please refer to the Service Charges booklet and Banking Terms & Conditions which can be obtained at any of the Bank’s branches or at our website sc.com/hk.

  18. All Referral Offers cannot be transferred, returned, exchanged, or converted into cash, unless otherwise specified.
  19. The Bank reserves the right to vary, modify or terminate any of the Referral Offers, and to amend any of the Terms and Conditions herein from time to time without prior notice. Referrer’s eligibility to the Referral Offer, including but not limited to in respect of the calculation of Referee’s total balance at the Bank, and the calculation methods of Referral Offer, is to be determined by the Bank based on the Bank’s latest record. In case of any disputes, the Bank’s decision and record shall be final and binding.
  20. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and the Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.

Priority Banking Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program (“Priority Banking Online Referral Program”)

A. General Terms and Conditions for Priority Banking Online Referral Program

  1. Referee may be entitled to reward under the Bank’s other promotional offer(s), which is/are separate from the Priority Banking Online Referral Program and is/are under separate terms and conditions. Please check with the Bank’s staff for details.
  2. The actual offer that the referrer may enjoy will be the prevailing offer of a certain promotion period during the submission of the Online Registration Form (as defined in Clause 5a of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program), where applicable, falls into.(the referral offer is subject the offers of that promotion period in which the successful referral is made) [Legal’s comment: Jessie, as spoken, I would suggest to revise this clause as follows: “The Online Registration Form (as defined in Clause 5a of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) must be submitted to the Bank during the Promotion Period in order to be eligible for the offer(s) under the Priority Banking Online Referral Program.” But I understand that Business is unable to change it this time because the hard copy version has already been finalized and printed.  Please ensure that this will be changed for the next promotion period.  ]

B. Terms and Conditions for Priority Banking Online Referral Program

  1. To be eligible for the Asia Miles or cash rebate under Priority Banking Online Referral Program, Referrer (as defined in Clause 2 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) must make a Successful Referral under Clause 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program. The New Services (as defined in Clause 4 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) selected by the Referee (as defined in Clause 3 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) in the Online Application Form must include Priority Banking, and the New Service signed up by Referee successfully during the Promotion Period must include Priority Banking.
    1. Referrer must fulfil the conditions of a Referrer as set out in Clause 2 and 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program (“Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program”).
    2. Referee must fulfil the conditions of a Referee as set out in Clause 3 and 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program, AND the following additional conditions (“Eligible Referee for Priority Banking Online Referral Program”):
      1. Complete the “Customer Investment Profile” questionnaire within 2 weeksfrom the date of signing up for Priority Banking; and
      2. Deposit to the Bank with new funds of no less than HKD1,000,000 by cash, cheque/cashier’s order, Local Bank Transfer Payment through Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS, also known as Clearing House Automated Transfer System (CHATS)), telegraphic transfer from other banks excluding any transfer of funds from any accounts within the Bank (“New Funds”) within 2 weeks from the date of signing up for Priority Banking to grow the Referee’s Total Balance at the Bank. “Total Balance” includes the aggregate balance of deposit, investments and accumulated premiums of selected Life Assurance Plans under personal account as primary account holder; and
      3. Take up or hold HKD Savings Account, HKD Current Account (or any Foreign Currency Savings Account), Priority Banking Credit Card, Standard Chartered ATM Card, and Online Banking (or Phone Banking Services) upon the date of signing up for Priority Banking, and complete the registration of Online Banking or use the Phone Banking Services at least once within 2 weeksfrom the date of signing up for Priority Banking; and
      4. Maintain a total balance of no less than HKD1,000,000 until the relevant designated date specified below:

  3. Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program must have an existing Asia Miles Membership Account or otherwise has to set up an Asia Miles Membership Account for the entitlement of the miles. Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program must have successfully registered online during the period from 1 July 2018 to 31 October 2018, both dates inclusive (“Registration Period”) with valid Asia Miles membership in the name of the Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program at the Bank’s website at sc.com/hk/AM to enjoy the relevant Asia Miles. Successful registration cannot be cancelled or modified. For Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program who has made multiple online registration submissions, only the latest registration record will be taken by the Bank for miles crediting purpose. The Bank will forward the relevant information, including family name, given name, membership number of Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program, and the entitled amount of miles, if any, to Asia Miles by March 2019. Miles will be credited into relevant account within 4 to 6 weeks thereafter. In case information submitted is incorrect or insufficient as considered by the Bank or Asia Miles Limited or if any of the relevant requirements for the Online Referral Program(s) is not fulfilled, the Bank will credit cash rebate as an alternative to the Asia Miles offer. Cash rebate will be available to Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program as per table shown in Clause 4 of this Section, and the Bank will credit the cash rebate to respective account held by the Eligible Referrer in the sequence as specified in Clause 5 and 6 of this Section without any prior notices. For avoidance of doubt, Terms and Conditions of Asia Miles shall apply for mileage redemptions. For details, please visit www.asiamiles.com.
  4. If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program chooses the cash rebate offer or does not submit the online registration form within the Registration Period from the sign-up date of Priority Banking by Eligible Referee or any information submitted via online registration is incorrect or insufficient for Asia Miles entitlement, cash rebate will be available to Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program as per table shown below:

  5. The Bank will credit the cash rebate to respective HKD deposit account (excluding MortgageOne®Account and Mortgage $aver Current Account) held by the Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program in sole name or in the capacity as primary account holder for joint account by April 2019 in the following sequence:
    1. Sub-account under Integrated Deposits Account;
    2. Current Account;
    3. Statement Savings;
    4. Passbook Savings

If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program has no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Referrer’s USD deposit account as above sequence. If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program has more than one account under same account type, the Bank will select any one of the accounts with the latest account opening date for the crediting at its discretion. Notification will be made to the Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program upon successful crediting of cash rebate. (no separate notification for Asia Miles, they can refer to Asia Miles monthly balance e-statement)If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program has no valid HKD deposit account, the Bank will credit to Eligible Referrer’s USD deposit account as above sequence.   1. If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Referral Program has no valid accounts as stated in Clause 5 of Section B, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate to the Standard Chartered Credit Card except supplementary cards, Standard Chartered Business Card and Standard Chartered Corporate Card provided by Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Referral Program by April 2019. If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Referral Program holds more than one Standard Chartered Credit Card except supplementary cards, Standard Chartered Business Card and Standard Chartered Corporate Card, the Bank reserves the right to credit the cash rebate into one single card account selected by the Bank. Notification will be made to the Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Referral Program upon successful crediting of cash rebate.
  2. If Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program is entitled to the offer under this Priority Banking Online Referral Program as well as other promotional offers, the Bank reserves the right to grant the Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program one of or part of the prevailing offer or other offers.   3. The sign-up for Priority Banking by the Eligible Referees for Priority Banking Online Referral Program and the relevant banking products and services mentioned under Clause 1b of Section B above and their banking services with the Bank must remain valid at the time when the Asia Miles or cash rebate is credited to the Eligible Referrer for Priority Banking Online Referral Program. Referee must fulfil the conditions of a Referee as set out in Clause 3 and 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program, AND the following additional conditions (“Eligible Referee for Premium Online Referral Program”):

If Eligible Referrer for Premium Online Referral Program is entitled to the offer under this Premium Online Referral Program as well as other promotional offers, the Bank reserves the right to grant the Eligible Referrer for Premium Online Referral Program one of or part of the prevailing offer or other offers.   8. The sign-up for Premium programme by the Eligible Referees for Premium Online Referral Program and the relevant banking products and services mentioned under Clause 1b of Section B above and their banking services with the Bank must remain valid at the time when Asia Miles or cash rebate is credited to the Eligible Referrer for Premium Online Referral Program. Otherwise, any reward/offer will be forfeited absolutely and not be provided to the Eligible Referrer for Premium Online Referral Program through any other means.

Salary BonusPack Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program (“Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program”)

A. General Terms and Conditions for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program

  1. Referee may be entitled to reward under the Bank’s other promotional offer(s), which is/are separate from the Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program and is/are under separate terms and conditions. Please check with the Bank’s staff for details.
  2. The actual offer that the referrer may enjoy will be the prevailing offer of a certain promotion period during the submission of the Online Registration Form(as defined in Clause 5a of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program), where applicable, falls into.

B. Terms and Conditions for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program

  1. To be eligible for the Asia Miles or the cash rebate under Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program, Referrer (as defined in Clause 2 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) must make a Successful Referral under Clause 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program. The New Services (as defined in Clause 4 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) selected by the Referee (as defined in Clause 3 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) in the Online Application Form must include Salary BonusPack, and the New Service signed up by Referee successfully during the Promotion Period must include Salary BonusPack:
    1. Referrer must fulfil the conditions of a Referrer as set out in Clause 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program (“Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program”);
    2. Referee must fulfil the conditions of a Referee as set out in Clause 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program, AND the following addition conditions (“Eligible Referee for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program”):
      1. The Referee must NOT have used any auto-payroll services with the Bank in the past 12 months prior to Referee’s Bonus Payroll Account (“BP Account”) sign-up date; and
      2. The Asia Miles / Cash Rebate to be awarded is calculated based on the actual payroll deposited. If the monthly payroll amount varies from month to month, the Asia Miles shall be calculated according to the client’s average monthly payroll amount within the first 3 months after the first transaction amount is deposited into the BP Account. The Bank’s records of the client’s payroll amount and number of payroll transactions are final and conclusive evidence for the purpose of this sub-sub-clause. In case of disputes, the Bank’s decision shall be final and binding; and
      3. Eligible Client must use the BP Account for our auto-payroll services within the first 2 months since the opening date of the BP Account. If the BP Account is suspended or terminated or if the Eligible Client ceases to use the BP Account for auto-payroll services for any reason at the time when Asia Miles / Cash Rebate being posted to Eligible Client as specified in Clause 3 of Section B, from the effective date of such suspension, termination or cessation (or any other date which we may specify at our sole and absolute discretion), the Eligible Client will no longer be entitled to any of the Salary Package Offers.
  2. The incentive of Asia Miles will be given to Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program as per the table below:

  3. Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program must have an existing Asia Miles Membership Account or otherwise has to set up an Asia Miles Membership Account for the entitlement of the miles. Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program must have successfully registered online during the period from 1 July 2018 to 31 October 2018, both dates inclusive (“Registration Period”)from the sign-up date of Salary BonusPack by Eligible Referee with valid Asia Miles membership in the name of the Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program at the Bank’s website at sc.com/hk/AM to enjoy the relevant Asia Miles. Successful registration cannot be cancelled or modified. For Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program who has made multiple online registration submissions, only the latest registration record will be taken by the Bank for miles crediting purpose. The Bank will forward the relevant information, including family name, given name, membership number of Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program, and the entitled amount of miles, if any, to Asia Miles by March 2019.   4. If Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program choose the cash rebate offer or did not submit the online registration form within the Registration Period from the sign-up date of Salary BonusPack by Eligible Referee or any information submitted via online registration is incorrect or insufficient for Asia Miles entitlement, cash rebate will be available to Eligible Referrer for Salary BonusPack Online Referral Program as per table shown below:

Terms and Conditions for Credit Card Online Referral Program:

  1. To be eligible for the Referral Offer (“as defined in Clause 8 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Member-Get-Member Referral Program”) of Credit Card Online Referral Program, Referrer (as defined in Clause 2 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) must make a Successful Referral under Clause 5 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program. The New Services (as defined in Clause 4 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) selected by the Referee (as defined in Clause 3 of the General Terms and Conditions for Online Referral Program) in the Online Application Form must include Designated Credit Cards, and the New Service that Referee successfully signed up for during the Promotion Period must include Designated Credit Cards.     With Successful Referral of 2 New Cardholders, Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program may earn a total of HK$300 cash rebate (HK$150 x 2).

If Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program has no valid accounts as stated in Clause 6 above, the Bank will credit the relevant amount of cash rebate to the Standard Chartered Credit Card which provided by Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program by March 2019. If Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program holds more than one Standard Chartered Credit Card, the Bank reserves the right to credit the cash rebate into one single card account as selected by the Bank.
  8. Banking services/ products of Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program with the Bank must be valid and in good credit status at the time of Referral Offer disbursement.
  9. If Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program is entitled to the Referral Offer under this Credit Card Online Referral Program as well as other promotional offers, the Bank reserves the right to grant the Eligible Referrer for Credit Card Online Referral Program one of or part of the prevailing offer or other offers.
