Visiting Cancer Kids at Hospital

In June 2008, a group of SCB volunteers headed to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital to pay visit to the less fortunate in the children's ward – both Cancer and Infectious ward. The objective of this event was not only to raise the employee's awareness on the surrounding community, but also showing the SCB commitment to be the Right Partner Leading by Example. In the hospital, SCB team joined the Izzi Pizza group and Business Weekly magazine to cheer up the kids by giving them gifts, huge smiles and warm greetings. The groups get to know around 30 kids and their relatives on the 2nd floor of Children's Ward liaised with Julia Van Laarhoven, our partner from Marie Cancer Kids Foundation whose institution is dedicated to support the less fortunate kids. The kids were very happy and it was a memorable experienced for us all.



Employees Giving Blood Donor

In line with the commemoration of Indonesia's National Awakening Day and SCB's 145-year of anniversary in Indonesia, employees of SCB Indonesia participated in a one-day blood donation last May 2008, held in our new office at Menara Standard Chartered in Jakarta. Partnering with the Indonesian Red Cross, through this annual activity, employees donated their blood eagerly as a manifestation of the Bank's commitment to support the community at large. Such activity is another sample of the Bank's promise "Leading by Example, to be the Right Partner".
