Who can use the tax payment service ?
  • This service is available to all Standard Chartered Bank customers who have a savings or current account with transaction rights on Online Banking.
When can I use this service ?
  • This service is available at all times. However, for all tax types having a due date for making payment, kindly submit your request at least four business days prior to the due date, to avoid any late payment penalty and interest as may be applicable by the Government of India.
What are the requirements to avail this service ?
  • Please select your applicable challan and enter all the required details required to process your tax payment request.
  • To make your payment, you would require your Online Banking Username and Password. For security purposes, you need to authorise the transaction with One Time Password (OTP) that we would be send to your registered mobile number.
  • You can make your payment from any of your accounts on which you have transaction access on Online Banking.
Would I be charged for this service ?
  • No, this service is provided free of cost.
How do I collect my acknowledgement (or counterfoil) after the tax payment ?
  • After successful tax submission, the counterfoil would be sent to your e-mail id registered in our records. To know your registered e-mail id, or to update it, please log on to Online Banking. In case your latest e-mail id is not registered with us at the time of tax submission, you may collect the counterfoil by visiting your nearest branch or writing to us at In case you are unable to locate our mail in your 'Inbox', kindly check the mails in 'Spam' or 'Junk' folder of your mailbox as well.
  • You can also take a print of the Confirmation page and use the Transaction Reference Number for any future communication.
How do I check if my PAN / TAN number is valid ?

Please ensure that you enter correct PAN / TAN details. You may verify the same on the following websites:

I have submitted my request with incorrect PAN / TAN number. What do I do now?
  • In case you enter an invalid PAN / TAN, Standard Chartered Bank will reject your tax payment request. In such cases, we shall send you an e-mail to your inbox on Online Banking as well as the e-mail id mentioned by you here along with the challan details. In case you are unable to locate our mail in your 'Inbox', kindly check the mails in 'Spam' or 'Junk' folder of your mailbox as well.
  • In case your application is rejected prior to tax payment, due to discrepancy in the details, Standard Chartered Bank would reverse the debit to your account. However, it could take 2 working days from the date of debit due to internal process checks.
  • In case of any discrepancies, post successful processing of the tax payment request; you will need to contact the respective tax collection department of Government of India.
