How to set up SC Keyboard on your mobile

STEP 1

Log in to your Standard Chartered Mobile app and you will be prompted to set up.

Follow on-screen instructions and open device settings.

Slide the toggle to add “SC Keyboard (English)” to keyboard.

You will be prompted to accept to add SC Keyboard. Also accept any mobile phone operating system prompt.

Note: SC Keyboard is as secure as SC Mobile app. It will only transmit data pertaining to keyboard banking features such as checking balances and making payments. The bank will not collect, process, store or transmit any keystrokes or personal data (such as passwords, credit card numbers, street address) in any case.

Enable SC Keyboard in 3 easy steps

Android

STEP 1

Open any app (such as WhatsApp) and start typing to bring up your keyboard.

Switch to SC Keyboard by swiping down to bring up the notification panel and selecting “Select input method”.

Alternatively, you can tap the keyboard icon in the bottom-right corner.

Tap “SC Keyboard (English)” and you can get started.

iOS

STEP 1

Open any app (such as WhatsApp) and start typing to bring up your keyboard.

Press and hold the globe icon to the right of “123” on the default keyboard.

Tap “SC Keyboard (English)” and you can get started.

How to transfer via mobile money (Mpesa or Airtel)

STEP 1

Open any app (e.g. WhatsApp) to bring up SC Keyboard and then tap the SC logo on the top-left.

Tap “PAY BILLS”.

Step 2

STEP 3

Log in using your SC Mobile app username and password. Alternatively, you can log in using fingerprint/TouchID/FaceID – this needs to be enabled on SC Mobile app.

Select the mobile money biller to pay.

Step 4

Select the account to pay from (you can set a default account to be used for future bill payments).

Input the amount and tap “confirm”.

Payment is submitted successfully.

You can “inform recipient” which bring up an automatically generated message that you can send to the recipient of the money.
