      • Manage your personal details and preferences online. You can update your contact information, change your passwords, add or delete portfolios and manage receipt of eStatements.

      • Use the payee registration feature and send payment instructions securely to your Private Banker.

      • Access the Portfolio View and Messaging mailbox which gives you a secure means of communicating with your Private Banker.

        Neither your name nor your identity is maintained in Portfolio View and Messaging. The minimal information we store is held in a separate system to our financial system. Only those clients who specifically enrol will have their portfolio information downloaded to our online system database.

        Standard Chartered Bank’s secure services use 128-bit encryption technology. Portfolio View and Messaging uses the same encryption technology used by Standard Chartered Bank, and its affiliates, for handling financial transactions on the internet.


        • 1Install anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall software on your personal computer, particularly when you are linked via broadband connections, digital subscriber lines or cable modems.
        • 2Update the anti-virus and firewall products with security patches or newer versions on a regular basis.
        • 3Remove file and printer sharing on your computer, especially when you have internet access via cable modems, broadband connections or similar set-ups.
        • 4Regularly backup critical data.
        • 5Consider the use of encryption technology to protect highly sensitive data.
        • 6Do not install software or run programs of unknown origin.
        • 7Never disclose your personal information (e.g. information on identity card or passport, addresses, or bank accounts) to any persons failing to prove their identities or any doubtful Web sites. You should never disclose your passwords to anyone.
        • 8Do not access e-banking services through public or shared computers (e.g. at cyber cafés or public libraries).
        • 9Log off the online session and turn off the computer when not in use.

The Shellshock (or Bash Bug) vulnerability has recently been discovered by IT security researchers. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to gain control over an affected machine, access confidential information and perform unauthorised activities. The Bank has carried out investigations and found no vulnerability in our systems. We will continue to monitor our systems and the external environment to take necessary action if a threat is detected
