Credit Cards Sign-Up cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. This Credit Cards Sign–Up Cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion (the "Promotion") is available from 1 January to 31 January 2017 (both dates inclusive) (the "Promotion Period"), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

  1. To qualify for this Promotion:
    1. you must apply for any one (1) of the following eligible cards (each an “Eligible Card”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Standard Chartered” or the “Bank”) as a principal cardholder (“Cardholder”):
      1. Platinum Visa/Mastercard Credit Card;
      2. MANHATTAN World Mastercard Credit Card;
      3. SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card;
      4. NUS Alumni Platinum Credit Card;
      5. Prudential Platinum Credit Card; or
      6. PruPrestige Visa Signature Credit Card,
    2. Standard Chartered must receive your application for the Eligible Card within the Promotion Period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Standard Chartered may continue to process any application received by Standard Chartered up to 14 calendar days after the end of the Promotion Period, and Standard Chartered shall retain the sole and absolute discretion to determine the eligibility of these applications and/or allow the said applications for the purposes of this Promotion on a case-to-case basis, subject to these terms and conditions;
    3. your Eligible Card application must be approved by Standard Chartered, where such approval is final and unconditional; and
    4. the Eligible Card account must, within six (6) months of Eligible Card account opening date, be valid (i.e. the Eligible Card account must not be suspended, cancelled and/or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by Standard Chartered in its sole and absolute discretion.
  2. For the avoidance of doubt, if you have received any of the above Eligible Cards in conjunction with your application for a CashOne / Credit Card Instalment Loan, you will not be eligible for Cashback under this Promotion.
  3. Subject to these terms, if you satisfy the eligibility criteria set out in Clause 2 above, you will be eligible to receive:
    If you had submitted your application via online channels through our Bank’s website If you had submitted your application via channels other than online
    If you do not have any existing principal or previously cancelled credit cards with the Bank at the point of your application for the Eligible Card S$138 cashback for the first Eligible Card approved under the Promotion S$100 cashback for the first Eligible Card approved under the Promotion.
    If you have an existing principal credit card or previously cancelled credit cards with the Bank at the point of your application for the Eligible Card S$20 cashback for each Eligible Card approved under the Promotion up to a maximum of two (2) Eligible Cards.
    The maximum amount of cashback that you may receive for this Promotion is capped at S$138 (“cashback Cap”).
    This cashback Cap will include any cashback received under any and all other Credit Card Sign-up Promotions with the Bank. You will not be entitled to any further cashback under this Promotion if you have already reached the previous cashback cap under any earlier Credit Card Sign-up Promotions, as determined by the Bank in its sole discretion, notwithstanding that such earlier cashback cap may be lesser or greater than $138.

  4. Any Cashback you are entitled to receive under this Promotion will be credited to your principal Eligible Card account within 30 days from card activation, subject to the Eligible Card being valid and in good standing. The Cashback awarded under this Promotion must be utilised within six (6) months from the date of card activation, failing which, any unused portion of the Cashback may be forfeited. Transfer of Cashback to another credit card account or withdrawal of Cashback in the form of Cashier’s Order or any other means shall not be permitted.
  5. In consideration of you participating in this Promotion and earning Cashback, the Bank reserves the right not to grant any waiver of the first year annual fee for the Eligible Card account, if you fail to charge a minimum of three (3) eligible retail transactions to the Eligible Card account within 60 days from the card approval date. For the purposes of this clause, the following transactions are not considered “eligible retail transactions”:
    1. balance transfers to the Eligible Card, cash advances from the Eligible Card, purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments;
    2. any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to the Eligible Card;
    3. any amount charged to the Eligible Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
    4. any payment for balance owing on the Eligible Card account from previous and/or other months.

General

  1. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. This Credit Cards Sign-Up Cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion shall supersede and replace any other existing Credit Cards Sign-Up Cashback Promotions run by the Bank. For the avoidance of doubt, if you participate in this Promotion, you are not eligible for any other promotions (and vice versa) including but not limited to the following promotions: SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Cards Sign-Up Gift Promotion. Standard Chartered reserves the right to do any of the following without prior notice:
    1. terminate, withdraw, shorten or extend this Promotion at the Bank’s sole and absolute discretion, with or without prior notice or reason; and/or
    2. vary, modify, add or delete any of the terms of the Promotion. You agree and consent to be bound by any such variation.
  2. These Credit Cards Sign-Up Cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms and Credit Card Terms ("Other Terms"). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  3. Standard Chartered reserves the right to determine at its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with this Promotion, including your eligibility for this Promotion and/or to receive any cashback under this Promotion. Standard Chartered’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion shall be final and conclusive and no correspondence will be entertained.
  4. A person who is not a party to these Credit Cards Sign-Up cashback (1 January to 31 January ) Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of the Promotion Terms and Conditions.
  5. These Credit Cards Sign-Up cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.

Mobile Wallets Sign-Up cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. This Credit Cards Sign–Up Cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion (the "Promotion") is available from 1 January to 31 January 2017 (both dates inclusive) (the "Promotion Period"), unless otherwise extended or otherwise terminated in accordance with these terms and conditions. By participating in this Promotion, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Eligibility

  1. To qualify for this Promotion:
    1. you must be eligible to receive cashback under the Credit Cards Sign-Up cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion (“Credit Cards Sign-Up Promotion ”);
    2. you must not have any existing principal or previously cancelled credit cards with the Bank at the point of your application for the Eligible Card (as defined in the Credit Cards Sign-Up Promotion);
    3. you must register the Eligible Card with Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Android Pay (“Enrolled Card ”); and
    4. you must use the Enrolled Card to make at least 1 Qualifying Transaction (as defined in Clause 4 below) through Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Android Pay (singularly “Mobile Wallet ”, collectively “Mobile Wallets ”) within 30 days of the card activation.

Promotion mechanics

  1. Under this Promotion, if you fulfil the eligibility criteria set out in clause 2 above (“Eligible Cardholders ”), you will receive S$30 cashback (the “cashback ”).
  2.   “Qualifying Transaction ” means a retail transaction (which excludes those transactions set out at Clause 9 below) charged to an Enrolled Card through any Mobile Wallet.
  3. Each Cardholder is eligible to receive the cashback only once.
  4. The cashback will be credited to the Enrolled Card’s card account within 45 days of the date when the first Qualifying Transaction is made.

General

  1. The cashback is strictly non-transferable and non-exchangeable (for cash or otherwise). For the avoidance of doubt, transfer of the cashback to another credit card account (which is not the Eligible Card account) or withdrawal of the cashback in the form of Cashier’s Order or any other means shall not be permitted.
  2. In the event that the Eligible Cardholder terminates his/her banking relationship with the Bank within 6 months of the expiry of the Promotion Period, the Bank further reserves the right to recover the whole or any part of the cashback awarded under this Promotion.
  3. The following transactions charged to an Enrolled Card through Mobile Wallets will not be considered as Qualifying Transactions:
    1. Insurance premiums, including premiums for investment-linked policies, charged to the Enrolled Card;
    2. Bill payments (Examples of bill payment merchants include but are not limited to Telecommunications and utilities providers such as Starhub, Singtel and M1, Singapore Power);
    3. Any payment via AXS network;
    4. Any payment via SAM network;
    5. Payments to government agencies which include but not limited to Land Transport Authority, Housing Development Board, Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, Public Utilities Board, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority and the Ministry of Manpower;
    6. Income tax payments;
    7. EZ-Link cards transactions;
    8. Transit Link transactions;
    9. Any transactions pertaining to Merchant Category Codes 6211 (Security Brokers/Dealers) and 7995 (Gambling/Lotto);
    10. Balance transfers to the Enrolled Card, cash advances from the Enrolled Card, purchases via NETS and ongoing instalment payments;
    11. Any fees and charges (including annual fees, interest charges, cheque processing fees, administrative fees, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges and other miscellaneous fees and charges) charged to the Enrolled Card;
    12. Any amount charged to the Enrolled Card during the Promotion Period that is subsequently cancelled, voided or reversed; and
    13. Balance owing on the Enrolled Card account from other months.
  4. For new retail transactions charged to the Enrolled Card through Mobile Wallets during the Promotion Period, which are successfully converted into monthly installments, either:
    1. At the point of sale by tie up merchants, the monthly installment amount (and not the total amount charged for that transaction); or
    2. At a later date by us, the total amount charged (and not the converted monthly installment amount),
    will be considered as the Qualifying Transaction provided such transaction is successfully transacted during the Promotion Period.
  5. We will treat any enrollment of the supplementary card, and any amounts charged to the supplementary card through Mobile Wallets, as transactions on the Enrolled Card by the principal cardholder. Qualifying Transactions charged to supplementary cards of the Eligible Cardholder will be counted as Qualifying Transactions of the principal cardholder.
  6. Qualifying Transactions must be charged to the Enrolled Card. The Bank is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any transaction by any party, including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunication provider.
  7. The Bank reserves the right to vary, modify, add or delete any of these terms and conditions, including terminating, shortening, extending or withdrawing the Promotion, without prior notice or reason.
  8. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to this Promotion, including but not limited to:-
    1. Eligibility to participate in the Promotion;
    2. Determining if a Card is to be or has been enrolled on Mobile Wallets; or
    3. Calculation of the cashback,
    is conclusive and final, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  9. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Promotion, these terms and conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.
  10. The Card account must be valid (i.e. must not be suspended, cancelled or terminated), in good standing, and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by the Bank in its discretion.
  11. In the event the Bank has determined that an Eligible Cardholder has irregularly or wrongly redeemed the cashback from the Bank, or where the Bank has knowledge of subsequent events which would mean that the Eligible Cardholder would not have been entitled to redeem the cashback (including but not limited to where the charges used to meet the Qualifying Transaction were reversed or refunded), the Bank reserves the right to claw back the cashback or to deduct the value of the cashback from the Eligible Cardholder’s account(s) with the Bank.
  12. Unless otherwise stated, this Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. This Promotion is valid in conjunction with Credit Cards Sign-Up cashback (1 January to 31 January 2017) Promotion.
  13. Please read these terms and conditions together with our Customer Terms, Current /Cheque /Savings Account and Time Deposit Terms, Bonus$aver, XtraSaver Account, SuperSalary Product Terms, Credit Card Terms, MANHATTAN cashback Terms, Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Promotion Terms & Conditions, Standard Chartered Tigerair Platinum Credit Rewards Product Program Terms, Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card Terms, our Digital Wallet Terms and any other specific Product Terms that may be relevant in connection with this Promotion (collectively, “Other Terms”). If there is any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and the Other Terms, these terms and conditions shall, to the extent of such inconsistency, prevail.
  14. A person who is not a party to these terms and conditions has no rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of these terms and conditions.
  15. These terms and conditions are governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of these terms and conditions shall be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Singapore.
