SC Mobile Credit Card Activation Promotion 2018 Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

  1. The SC Mobile Credit Card Activation Promotion 2018 (“SC Mobile Activation Promotion“) is available from 1 October 2018 to 30 November 2018 (both dates inclusive) (“Promotion Period“). The SC Mobile Activation Promotion is open to all principal cardholders (“Eligible Cardholders“) of Standard Chartered Credit Cards (“Cards”) issued by Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited (“Bank”). By participating in the SC Mobile Activation Promotion, Eligible Cardholders agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  1. Unless otherwise stated, the SC Mobile Activation Promotion is not valid with other offers, discounts, rebates, vouchers, privileges or promotions. The SC Mobile Activation Promotion is valid in conjunction with the Standard Chartered Caltex 2018 Promotion (the terms and conditions of which can be found here), the Standard Chartered and Grab August to December 2018 Promotion (the terms and conditions of which can be found here), and The Good Life® 2018 Promotion (the individual merchant and general terms and conditions of which can be found here).
  2. Eligible Cardholders whose Cards’ accounts have been suspended, cancelled or terminated for any reason during the period from 1 October 2018 to 15 January 2019 (both dates inclusive) are not eligible for the SC Mobile Activation Promotion.

Participation

  1. To participate in the SC Mobile Activation Promotion:
    1. an Eligible Cardholder must successfully activate his/her Card using the Standard Chartered Mobile App (“SC Mobile”) during the Promotion Period (such successfully activated card to be hereinafter referred to as a “SC Mobile Activated Card”). For guidance on how to activate a Card using SC Mobile, please refer to the table below; and
      Step 1 Login to SC Mobile
      Step 2 Go to “Help & Services”
      Step 3 Select “Card Management” followed by selecting “Credit Card Activation/Pin Setup”
      Step 4 Follow the on-screen instructions
      Step 5 Upon completion, your card will be activated immediately and PIN set
    2. the SC Mobile Activated Card must be eligible for the SC Mobile Activation Promotion (see Clauses 1 to 3 above for eligibility requirements).
  1. The Bank will deem a Card to be ineligible for the SC Mobile Activation Promotion if the Card is activated via other means including but not limited to SMS, Online Banking, or Client Contact Centre assisted. The Bank’s determination in this regard shall be final and conclusive, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  1. By activating the Card using SC Mobile and participating in the SC Mobile Activation Promotion, the Eligible Cardholder consents to the use of his/her personal data for marketing purposes, including but not limited to the use of his/her telephone number to contact him/her about products and promotions offered by the Bank from time to time via telephone, SMS or multimedia messaging. Such consent will also prevail even if the Eligible Cardholder is registered or subsequently registers his/her contact information with the national Do Not Call Registry.

Promotion Mechanics

  1. Upon the successful activation of the Card(s) using SC Mobile, each Eligible Cardholder will be eligible to receive a S$5 credit into his/her Eligible Card (“SC Mobile Activation Cashback”).
  1. Each Eligible Cardholder is eligible to receive SC Mobile Activation Cashback twice only. This means that each Eligible Cardholder will only be eligible to receive a maximum of S$10 SC Mobile Activation Cashback for the SC Mobile Activation Promotion.
  1. In the event that multiple Cards have been successfully activated by the Eligible Cardholder, the total SC Mobile Activation Cashback will be combined (to a maximum of S$10 as mentioned in Clause 8 above) and credited into the Relevant Individual Card Account. For the purposes of these terms and conditions, a “Relevant Individual Card Account” shall refer to a Card account for the Card, amongst the multiple Cards which had been successfully activated, which was successfully activated via SC Mobile by the Eligible Cardholder the earliest in time. For the avoidance of doubt, such an Eligible Cardholder will no longer be eligible to receive any further SC Mobile Activation Cashback from the third Card activation (inclusive) onwards.

General

  1. SC Mobile is dependent on the infrastructure, connectivity and services provided by service providers engaged by the Bank or you. The Bank does not represent or warrant that SC Mobile will be accessible at all times (due to regular maintenance, servicing or any other reason).
  1. The Bank may send you electronic alerts on the activation status of your Card. The sending of electronic alerts is subject to many variable circumstances such as mobile network availability and proper functioning of hardware and software. You accept that timeliness, accuracy, and/or readability of electronic alerts will depend in part on third party service providers engaged by the Bank or you.
  1. The Bank is not responsible for any failure, non-delivery or delayed delivery, error, loss or distortion in transmission of electronic alerts, which may delay or impact the successful and timely activation of your Card using SC Mobile, by any party including but not limited to any telecommunication provider, any internet service provider or website. The Bank shall not be liable to any Eligible Cardholder for any liability, loss, damage, cost and/or expenses whatsoever due to the aforesaid.
  2. Eligible Cardholders shall be solely responsible for all fees and charges imposed by their service providers during the activation of their Card(s) using SC Mobile.
  1. The Bank reserves the right to revise these terms and conditions, modify or withdraw the SC Mobile Activation Promotion at any time without prior notice or reason including terminating, shortening, extending or withdrawing the SC Mobile Activation Promotion and/or substituting the SC Mobile Activation Cashback with any other item (which may or may not be of equivalent or similar value), without prior notice or reason. Each Eligible Cardholder agrees and consents to be bound by any such variation.
  1. The SC Mobile Activation Cashback is non-transferable, non-assignable and non-exchangeable for cash or otherwise. The SC Mobile Activation Cashback will be credited to all Eligible Cardholders Eligible Card Account(s) by 15 January 2019. Subsequently, the Eligible Cardholders who have qualified to receive the SC Mobile Activation Cashback will receive an SMS no later than 31 January 2019 to inform about the successful crediting of the SC Mobile Activation Cashback.
  1. If the Bank at any time determines in its sole and absolute discretion that any of the eligibility requirements set out in these terms and conditions have not been complied with but SC Mobile Activation Cashback has been credited into the Eligible Cardholder’s Card account(s), the Bank reserves the right to recover any / all cashback or the value of any / all cashback from such Eligible Cardholder.
  1. The Bank reserves the right to determine in its sole and absolute discretion all matters arising out of or in connection with the SC Mobile Activation Promotion, including a cardholder’s eligibility to participate in the SC Mobile Activation Promotion and/or to receive any SC Mobile Activation Cashback. The Bank’s determination of all matters relating to the SC Mobile Activation Promotion shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained.
  1. In the event of any inconsistency between the SC Mobile Activation Promotion Terms and Conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the SC Mobile Activation Promotion, these SC Mobile Activation Promotion Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency.
  2. Please read these terms and conditions together with our Customer Terms and Credit Card Terms, the Standard Chartered 360° Rewards Programme Terms and Conditions, the Standard Chartered Rewards+ Credit Card Promotion Terms and Conditions and any other product terms that may be applicable in conjunction with the SC Mobile Activation Promotion (collectively “Other Terms“). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.
  3. A person who is not a party to these SC Mobile Activation Promotion Terms and Conditions has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act (Cap. 53B) to enforce any of these terms and conditions.
  1. The SC Mobile Activation Promotion Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
