Travel Accident Insurance

You are entitled to Travel Accident Insurance coverage when you fully pay travel fare and ticket(s) or redemption air ticket(s) to a fully licensed passenger carrying aircraft on scheduled flight, scheduled train, scheduled ship or public transportations (excludes commuter transport including but not limited to BTS, MRT, Ferries, Express Boat, etc.) by charging Standard Chartered VISA Platinum Elite Card, Visa Platinum Liverpool, Visa Platinum BonusSaver, MasterCard Platinum, Visa Business Card, Titanium Card, Visa/Master Gold Card and Visa Mortgage Link Card for any overseas or domestic trips, provided that you activate call at least 2 hours before departure time through Standard Chartered Phone Banking, Tel.1595 with the required information i.e. departure/arrival, date & time, destination, flight number, details of public transportations etc. (Please keep the receipt of ticket(s) as evidence in case of claim).

Overseas and Domestic trips, activation of the cardholder is required for the first trip only. Next trips will be automatically covered.

You are entitled to Travel Accident & Travel Inconvenience Insurance coverage whilst traveling including protection against flight delay, delayed or loss of baggage without further charges. The insurance covers the cardholder, legitimate spouse and dependent children* where the entire fare for the ticket(s) is fully charged to your Standard Chartered VISA Platinum Elite Card, MasterCard Platinum, Visa Business Card, Titanium Card, Visa/Master Gold Card and Mortgage Link Card.


Protection against Travel Accident

You are entitled to Travel Accident & Travel Inconvenience Insurance coverage whilst travel on scheduled flight, scheduled trains, scheduled ships or public transportations. The insurance covers cardholders, legitimate spouses, and dependent children* where the entire fare for the ticket(s) is fully charged through your Standard Chartered Credit Card. Please see more details in the table below.


Protection against Flight Delay
  • Direct Flight

    If the journey on a scheduled Flight of the Cardholder that is confirmed in advance is delayed at the point of departure due to the delay in the arrival of the aircraft within 6 hours from the scheduled time of departure that is specified in the ticket or flight cancellation or denial to travel due to fully booked and no substitution of any other fights within 6 hours from the schedule time of leaving that specified in the ticket, you, your spouse and children* shall be reimbursed for the expenses of hotel accommodation, food and beverage paid by you by charging Standard Chartered Credit Card, which are incurred at the disembarking airport for hotel accommodation and food & beverage. The Claim will be considered for each completed 6 hour period at actual cost but not exceeding 10% of the sum insured and maximum limits as specified in the policy Please see more details in the table below.

  • Connecting Flight

    If the journey on a scheduled Flight of the Cardholder requires a connecting flight for which the Cardholder has a confirmation in advance, and the connecting flight is missed at the point of transferring due to the delay in the arrival of the aircraft which the Cardholder was traveling on in order to connect with the connecting flight, and if the Cardholder is unable to continue his/her journey by any other ways within 6 hours from the original arrival time of the flight which the Cardholder travels on, you, your spouse and children* shall be reimbursed for the expenses of hotel accommodation, food and beverage paid by you by charging Standard Chartered Credit Card, which are incurred at the transferring airport for hotel accommodation and food & beverage. The claims will be considered for each completed 6 hour period at actual cost but not exceeding 10% of the sum insured and maximum limits as specified in the policy. Protection against Baggage Delay

In case baggage is not delivered to you within 6 hours after the time which you arrive at the destination of the scheduled flight, you, your spouse and children* shall be reimbursed for the necessary expenses for clothing paid by you by charging Standard Chartered Credit Card. Claims will be considered for each completed 6 hour period at actual cost but not exceeding 10% of the sum insured and maximum limits as specified in the policy. The coverage depends on the type of card. Please see more details in the table below.


Protection against Loss of Baggage

In case baggage is not delivered to you within 24 hours after the time which you arrive at the destination of the scheduled flight and you acquire evidence report from the service provider, you, your spouse and children shall be reimbursed for the necessary expenses for clothing paid by you by charging Standard Chartered Credit Card. Hence, the expense must be incurred within 4 days starting from the arrival at the final destination. Please see more details in the table below.

Remark:

  1. The cardholder cannot claim under both Baggage Delay and Loss of Baggage (if any) for the same event.
  2. This Baggage Delay or Loss of Baggage benefit does not apply for the return of the insured cardholder to the place the journey originated.


Claims Process

In the event of claim, or of any event likely to give rise to a claim under this policy, the evidence of claim (e.g. death certificate, original receipt, police certificate, proofs of loss or delay baggage etc.) must be given to the Insurance Company no later than 30 days after the loss or damage occurrence at the following address:

* Dependent child mean dependent child, between the age of 3 months to 23 years old who is not married or have fixed income.
** The cardholder cannot claim under both baggage delay and Loss of Baggage (if any) for the same event.
*** Maximum means total Sum Insured per event (regardless of the number of insured persons).

The Insurance for any one Insured, who is entitled under this Policy, shall be terminated immediately upon:

  1. The expiry date or the period specified in the main policy, or

  2. Standard Chartered VISA Platinum Elite Card, MasterCard Platinum, Visa Business Card, Visa Platinum Liverpool, Visa Platinum BonusSaver, Titanium Card and Visa / Master Gold Card and Visa Mortgage Link Card is cancelled or terminated.

  3. Within 2 hours upon arrival to Thailand (for overseas trip).

  4. Upon return to cardholder's usual resident (for domestic and overseas trip). Which ever occurs first.
