Standard Chartered has a history of over 150 years in the UK. Its headquarters are based at 1 Basinghall Avenue, London, and both the Group CEO and Chairman are situated here.
Standard Chartered is regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority and is one of the UK's largest banks. It has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1969 and is currently a top 20 FTSE company and among the top five largest banks by market capitalisation.
In additional to the many Group functions based in the UK, London is a global financial centre and a key hub for Standard Chartered's Corporate and Insitutional business. It also hosts significant Private Banking and International Banking operations.

Standard Chartered in Europe
Standard Chartered's Europe region spans 14 markets, from the Falkland Islands in the West to Russia and Turkey in the East. Approximately 2,200 people are employed in the region, representing 76 nationalities.
Europe is increasingly important in the delivery of the Bank's strategy which focuses on Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Standard Chartered aims to be the bank of choice for clients with existing business, or seeking to do business with these regions.
London is the main hub in Europe for Corporate and Institutional business and a centre of expertise for the major product groups: Financial Markets, Transaction Banking and Corporate Finance. Frankfurt is the next largest operation, which is home to the Bank's Euro clearing and a global Transaction Banking product support group.
There are both Private and Retail banking services available in Europe. The Private Bank has booking centres in London, Jersey and Geneva and provides banking and investment services to high net worth clients, especially those based in or with links to Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Guernsey provides trust and fiduciary services.
Retail services are available in the Falkland Islands as well as in Germany.
