Standard Chartered Appoints Head of Trading and Deputy Head of Global Markets, Americas

Standard Chartered Bank today announced the appointment of Mohammed Grimeh in the newly created role of Head of Trading and Deputy Head of Global Markets, Americas.
“By adding this new position to the Global Markets Americas team, we continue to build the depth of our leadership and our capabilities to meet the needs of clients throughout our key markets in the US and in Latin America,” said David Castle, Head of Global Markets, Americas.
Mo will be responsible for managing foreign exchange, interest rate, credit, and commodities trading across G10 and emerging markets. He will also be responsible for broadening the Bank’s trading platform in the Americas.
He joins Standard Chartered Bank from Lehman Brothers, where, since 1998, he had been Global Head of Emerging Markets. He has 18 years of experience managing risk and client business in the areas of credit, interest rates, foreign exchange, equities and commodities across the emerging markets. Prior to Lehman, he held trading roles at Societe Generale and ING in Paris, London and New York.

Mo holds a master’s degree in engineering from Ecole Central, Paris, where he majored in applied mathematics. He is fluent in Arabic French and Spanish. He is Vice Chairman and member of the board of Emerging Market Traders Association (EMTA) and a member of Arab Bankers in North America (ABANA).
