Louis Taylor appointed the General Director of Standard Chartered Bank (Vietnam) Limited
Hanoi, 1 November, 2010 – Standard Chartered Bank (Vietnam) Limited today announced the appointment of Louis Taylor as its new General Director and Vice Chairman. Ashok Sud’s term as General Director and Vice Chairman in Vietnam has ended, though he will continue to sit on the bank’s board of management as a Non Executive Director.
Ashok Sud, Non Executive Director, Standard Chartered Bank (Vietnam) Limited said:
“After almost 5 years at the helm of Standard Chartered Bank in Vietnam, my tenure in Vietnam has come to an end. During this challenging time we have witnessed the growth of Standard Chartered Bank in Vietnam, the Vietnamese banking sector and more importantly, Standard Chartered Bank’s partnership and long-term commitment to Vietnam. I strongly believe that under Louis Taylor’s leadership, Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam will grow to the next level of achievement”.
Louis Taylor is from Newcastle, England. He spent 8 years in investment banking, then 5 years running strategy and acquisitions for two industrial companies, before joining Standard Chartered Bank six years ago. Since then, he has been involved in most of the bank’s strategic acquisitions, including the bank’s stake in Asia Commercial Bank – the most profitable local private sector bank in Vietnam.
Louis Taylor, General Director and Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank (Vietnam) Limited said:

Louis is married to Kate and they have three children who are all with him here in Vietnam.
