As a bank, Standard Chartered is used to thinking about security. The growth of the internet has offered greater flexibility for all of us, but it also brings new risks that must be guarded against. Therefore, we are committed to keeping you and your account information safe and secure. Therefore, Standard Chartered introduces Two Factor Authentications (2FA) for online banking. A two Factor Authentications (2FA) is an additional layer of security used by the Bank to verify the customer's online identity for critical transactions. In addition to the login PIN, Online Banking customers will now be required to provide a unique Electronic Transaction Authorization Code (eTAC) code on the confirmation screen when they conduct certain online transactions. The eTACs will be sent to customers via SMS to the mobile numbers registered with the bank within 60 seconds from the transaction.
In order to ensure the successful completion of all customers' transactions, we kindly request from all our Online Banking customers to update their mobile phone numbers using the update information link available on their Online Banking page.
