Mr. Ayodeji Adelagun (Mr. Adelagun) was appointed to the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Capital and Advisory Nigeria Limited as a Non-Executive Director on 15th March 2021 and was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective 14th December 2021.
He is a graduate of Economics from University of Ilorin, Nigeria; holds an MBA from the prestigious Lagos Business School (LBS) and an Alumnus of IESE business School, Executive Management Programme. He has also attended executive management training at INSEAD. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and ACI Financial Markets Association.
Mr. Adelagun serves as Executive Director and Head, Markets, Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited. With an extensive career in the Nigeria banking industry, Mr. Adelagun has held pivotal roles in institutions such as Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited, Access Bank Plc and First Securities Discount House Limited (FSDH) now FSDH Merchant Bank.
Ayodeji is a fellow of the Financial Markets Dealers Association (FMDA). He also led bond dealers’ workgroup on the introduction of benchmark bonds in Nigeria.
He is a passionate financial literacy advocate and a guest lecturer at the Lagos Business School (LBS) where he teaches full-time MBA students on bonds.
Mr. Dayo Omolokun (Mr. Omolokun) was appointed to the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Capital and Advisory Nigeria Limited as a Non-Executive Director on 21st October 2021.
Mr. Omolokun is also the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited, where he is responsible for leading the Finance function in Nigeria, managing investor and key regulatory relationships. He is a seasoned finance and banking professional with over two decades of multi-functional and international experience in Africa, Middle East and UK markets. In his immediate past role as Director of Financial Integration and Change Management at Atlas Mara, Dayo managed aspects of the organisation’s strategy to achieve growth through mergers and acquisitions. Prior to this, he worked for Standard Chartered in various roles in Nigeria, UK, Botswana and Ghana, during which he made specific contributions to the growth of the business as Country Chief Financial Officer and executed a global acquisition and integration project at the Group Head Office. He has also been an Independent Consultant to African Development Bank on Non-Sovereign Operations (private sector investments). He trained with Arthur Andersen Nigeria (now KPMG Professional Services) rising to the position of Audit and Business Advisory Manager.
Mr. Omolokun holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cass Business School, City, University of London (UK), and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (Nigeria). He possesses chartered accounting and tax qualifications. He is married with children.
Mrs. Yemisi Deji-Bejide (Mrs. Deji-Bejide) was appointed to the Board of Directors of Standard Chartered Capital and Advisory Nigeria Limited as a Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) on 6th October 2016.
In her role as MD/CEO, she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Company and proper implementation of the Company’s strategy.
She holds a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) degree in Economics from University of Lagos, Nigeria and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in International Economics, Banking and Finance from the Cardiff Business School, University of Wales, United Kingdom.
Mrs. Deji-Bejide is also the Head of Mergers and Acquisition, Africa at the Standard Chartered and Non-Executive Director at Standard Chartered Securities (Africa) Holdings Limited. She is a seasoned investment banking professional with over two decades of experience advising on notable transactions across the financial services, telecoms, healthcare, food and beverages, commodities and oil and gas sectors. Prior to this, she worked for Vetiva Capital Management Limited in various roles.
Mr. Bosah Okonyia (Mr. Okonyia) was appointed as the Company Secretary of Standard Chartered Capital and Advisory Nigeria Limited on 21st May 2019.
In his role as Company Secretary, he is responsible for ensuring proper corporate governance structures are in place, and that the Company complies with all statutory, company secretarial and governance requirements in Nigeria.
Mr. Okonyia is also a Senior Legal Counsel at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited. He has over 20 years of expertise in banking, advising on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisition, taxation, dispute management, corporate governance and data governance. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he worked for Zenith Bank PLC and Punuka Attorneys and Solicitors.
Mr. Okonyia holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Delta State University, Abraka; a Master of Laws degree from University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom and is called to the Nigerian Bar. He is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, Associate of the Nigeria Institute of Chartered Arbitrators and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a Certified Project Management Professional.
