Standard Chartered named Islamic Finance House of the Year & Financial Institutions Debt House of the Year – Türkiye at the GBM Awards 2025

The Bank has been recognised at the Global Banking & Markets Awards 2025 (CEE, Central Asia & Türkiye), winning two major awards: Islamic Finance House of the Year and Financial Institutions Debt House of the Year – Türkiye.

These honours reflect the combined efforts of our Islamic finance, DCM, syndicate and global markets experts in CEE, Central Asia, Türkiye, and the wider Standard Chartered network. The wins are strong market recognitions of the Bank’s strength in executing across diverse financing landscapes.

Showcasing our execution capabilities, global reach, and deep capital-markets expertise, seven client transactions we supported won Deal of the Year awards:

  • Sovereign, Supranational and Agency Deal of the Year for the Republic of Türkiye’s EUR1.5bn 5.2% SEC registered notes.
  • SSA Local Currency Bond of the Year for the Republic of Uzbekistan’s UZS6tn tranche as part of a three-tranche $1.5bn Eurobond
  • ESG Loan Deal of the Year for AgroBank’s USD250m multi-currency green syndicated loan
  • Infrastructure Finance Deal of the Year for Nakkas/Basaksehir Project’s EUR1.12bn financing of BOT model motorway
  • Sukuk Deal of the Year for Turkiye Wealth’s USD750m 5.25-year Debut Sukuk
  • Sovereign Sukuk Deal of the Year for the Republic of Türkiye’s USD2.5bn 5-year senior unsecured Sukuk
  • Deal of the Year – Uzbekistan for Uzbekneftegaz’s USD850m 5-year Eurobond
