Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card Terms and Conditions

  1. The Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card ("SingPost Card") gives you cashback ("CashBack") when you (including any person you authorise as a supplementary cardholder on your account) use the SingPost Card in the manner specified here.

Eligibility for CashBack
  1. To qualify for CashBack for any month, you must charge a minimum amount of S$600 to your SingPost Card within that month ("Minimum Card Spend").

CashBack on Qualifying Retail Transactions
  1. You can earn CashBack on the following transactions ("Qualifying Retail Transactions") charged to your SingPost Card:
    1. purchase at any supermarket in Singapore assigned with merchant category code number 5411 ("Qualifying Supermarket Purchase");
    2. purchase identified as an online transaction based on codes assigned by Visa ("Qualifying Online Purchase");
    3. purchase at vPOST ("vPOST Purchase"); and
    4. any other retail purchase that is not excluded as a Qualifying Retail Transaction ("Other Qualifying Retail Transaction").

  2. CashBack will be awarded in the following manner:

      Category of Qualifying Retail Transactions CashBack
    (a) Qualifying Supermarket Purchase 2%
    (b) Qualifying Online Purchase 7%
    (c) vPOST Purchase 7%
    (d) Other Qualifying Retail Transaction 0.2%
Maximum CashBack
  1. The maximum CashBack awarded for any month is capped at S$60 per SingPost Card account.

General
  1. For the purpose of these terms, "month" means the period from the statement date of the current month to one day prior to the statement date of the following month.

  2. For any new transaction payable by monthly instalment payments, if you charge the total amount in respect of such transaction to your SingPost Card within a particular month where such total amount is successfully converted to monthly instalments:

    1. at the point of sale by a participating merchant, the monthly instalment amount (and not the total amount charged):
      1. For the Minimum Card Spend – will be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend, provided that such monthly instalment amount is successfully posted to your SingPost Card account before the end of that month. Subsequent monthly instalment amounts will be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for such months in which the relevant instalment amount is posted; and
      2. For CashBack – will qualify for CashBack provided that (A) such new transaction payable by monthly instalment payment is a Qualifying Retail Transaction, and (B) such monthly instalment amount is successfully posted to your SingPost Card account before the end of that month. Subsequent monthly instalment amounts will also qualify for CashBack for such months in which the relevant instalment amount is posted; or

    2. at a later date by us, the total amount charged (and not the converted monthly instalment amount):
      1. For Minimum Card Spend – will be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for such month in which the amount is successfully posted to your SingPost Card account; and
      2. For CashBack – will qualify for CashBack provided that (A) such new transaction payable by monthly instalment payment is a Qualifying Retail Transaction, and (B) such monthly instalment amount is successfully posted to your SingPost Card account before the end of that month. Subsequent monthly instalment amounts will also qualify for CashBack for such months in which the relevant instalment amount is posted; or

  3. The following transactions will not (a) qualify as Qualifying Retail Transactions, and (b) be taken into consideration when determining if the Minimum Card Spend has been fulfilled:
    1. any cash advance;
    2. any fees and charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, interest charges, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges);
    3. any balance or funds transfer;
    4. any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;
    5. any amount charged to your SingPost Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed;
    6. recurring payments or payments made using Standard Chartered Online Banking;
    7. AXS or ATM transactions made using the SingPost Card;
    8. amounts which have been rolled over from the preceding months' statements; and
    9. any other charge, fee, transaction or payment as we may stipulate from time to time.

  4. Any transaction, and Qualifying Retail Transaction charged by your supplementary cardholder and posted to your supplementary cardholder's SingPost Card account can be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend and/or can qualify to accrue CashBack on your SingPost Card account. For clarity, CashBack will only be credited to your SingPost Card account (i.e. supplementary cardholders are not eligible to receive any CashBack).

  5. CashBack accrued for any month will be reflected and credited to your SingPost Card account in the next month.

  6. CashBack awarded on Qualifying Retail Transactions is based on the dates when these transactions were posted to your SingPost card account (and your supplementary cardholder's SingPost card account (if applicable)).

  7. Minimum Card Spend is considered fulfilled for any month if the transactions relating to such Minimum Card Spend were posted to your SingPost card account (and your supplementary cardholder's SingPost card account (if applicable)) before the end of that month.

  8. We accept no liability for any late submission of any transaction and/or Qualifying Retail Transaction by merchants for whatsoever reasons.

  9. Any CashBack if credited to your SingPost card account for any of the transactions listed under Clause 8 will be reversed at our sole discretion without prior notice.

  10. Your SingPost card account must be in good standing and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner, as we may determine in our sole discretion, at the time of crediting the CashBack. In the event that your SingPost card account is delinquent, terminated or suspended for any reason whatsoever before the CashBack is credited into your SingPost card account, we reserve the right to forfeit such CashBack at our sole discretion without prior notice.

  11. SingPost Cards are excluded from earning rewards under the Standard Chartered 360° Rewards Programme.

  12. We reserve the right to vary, modify, and amend any of these terms (including but not limited to (a) the right to vary the rate of CashBack, the maximum amount of CashBack to be awarded, and the basis of calculation of CashBack, and (b) the right to vary the amount of the Minimum Card Spend) from time to time without prior notice and you agree that you are bound by such variations, modifications, and amendments.

  13. Our decision on all matters pertaining to this Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card shall be final and binding on you and your supplementary cardholders.

  14. These Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with our Customer Terms and Credit Card Terms ("Other Terms"). In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and the Other Terms, these terms prevail only to the extent of such inconsistency.

    Simply charge $600 and above ("Minimum Card Spend") to your SingPost Card each month to enjoy up to $60 CashBack on any of the following transactions (collectively, "Qualifying Retail Transaction"):
    • 7% CashBack on any online transaction identified by us as an online transaction based on codes assigned by Visa;
    • 2% CashBack on purchase at any supermarkets in Singapore assigned with merchant category code number 5411 (e.g. NTUC Fairprice, Cold Storage, Giant, and Sheng Shiong)
    • 0.2% CashBack on any other eligible retail purchase that is not excluded as a Qualifying Retail Transaction.

  4. Do I have to pay annual fees for my SingPost Card?
    The annual fee is waived for the first two years. The annual fee is $192.60 w/GST.

  5. Can I have a supplementary card?
    Yes, you may have up to a maximum of five (5) supplementary cards.

  6. Do I have to pay annual fees for my supplementary card/s?
    All supplementary credit cards are free for life as long as your principal card is active.

  7. Can the principal cardholder and supplementary cardholder enter into separate rewards plans?
    No, there is only one reward plan per credit card account. The principal and supplementary cardholders are enrolled in the same reward plan.

    All amounts charged to the Cards by supplementary cardholders will be considered as amounts charged to the Cards by principal cardholders and CashBack earned will be credited to the principal cardholder's Card.
Minimum Card Spend Requirement
  1. Do I need to spend a certain amount on the SingPost Card to get my CashBack?
    Yes, to qualify for the CashBack for any month, you must charge a minimum amount of $600 to your SingPost Card within that month.

  2. Which transactions will not be included in minimum card spend computation?
    The following transactions are excluded from counting towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend requirement:
    1. any cash advance;
    2. any fees and charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, interest charges, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges);
    3. any balance or funds transfer;
    4. any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;
    5. any amount charged to your SingPost Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed;
    6. recurring payments or payments made using Standard Chartered Online Banking;
    7. AXS or ATM transactions made using the SingPost Card;
    8. amounts which have been rolled over from the preceding months' statements; and
    9. any other charge, fee, transaction or payment as we may stipulate from time to time.

  3. Does spending on my supplementary cards contribute to my Minimum Card Spend?
    Yes. All Qualifying Retail Transactions, and transactions not excluded under Question 16, charged by your supplementary cardholder and posted to your supplementary cardholder's SingPost Card account will be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for your SingPost Card account.

  4. I've converted my transaction to Easy Pay instalment, will the monthly instalment count towards the fulfilment of my monthly Minimum Card Spend requirement?
    The monthly instalment amount will not count towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend requirement for any month. However, the entire transaction amount successfully charged and posted to your SingPost Card account in a particular month can count towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for that particular month.

  5. I've made an instalment purchase at a merchant, will my monthly instalments count towards the fulfilment of my monthly Minimum Card Spend requirement?
    Yes, the monthly instalment amount charged and posted to your SingPost Card account for any given month can be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for that month. Subsequent monthly instalment amounts will be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for such months in which the relevant instalment amount is posted.

  6. I did not meet the Minimum Card Spend this month, can my spending accumulated be brought forward to the next month for the purpose of counting towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend next month?
    No, spending in a particular month can only be counted towards the fulfilment of the Minimum Card Spend for that month.
CashBack
  1. Will all my supermarket transactions earn the 2% CashBack?
    No, only purchase(s) at supermarkets in Singapore which are assigned with merchant category code number 5411 (e.g. NTUC Fairprice, Cold Storage, Giant, and Sheng Shiong^) will earn 2% CashBack.

  2. Will my overseas supermarket transactions earn 2% CashBack?
    No. Overseas supermarket transactions will only earn 0.2% CashBack.

  3. Will all my online transactions earn 7% CashBack?
    No, only online purchases identified as an online transaction based on codes assigned by Visa will earn 7% CashBack.

  4. Which transactions are excluded from earning any CashBack?
    The following transactions will not qualify as Qualifying Retail Transactions:
    • any cash advance;
    • any fees and charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, interest charges, cash advance fees, finance charges and/or late payment charges);
    • any balance or funds transfer;
    • any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;

  7. What happens if I don’t meet the spend requirement for the month?
    You will not earn CashBack on the Qualifying Retail Transactions for that specific month.

  8. Can I convert my CashBack to cash?
    No. CashBack may not be converted to or exchanged for cash or credit. Separately, please note that CashBack may also not be transferred to any other account or paid to any person in any manner whatsoever or used to settle or pay any other liability of any person whatsoever.

  9. Can I earn rewards points on my card instead of the CashBack?
    No. SingPost Cards are excluded from earning rewards under the Standard Chartered 360° Rewards Programme.
