Standard Chartered appoints Jeremy Amias as Vice Chairman, CCIB Europe

Standard Chartered has appointed Jeremy Amias as Vice Chairman, Europe. Jeremy will be based in London and report to Torry Berntsen, CEO, Europe & Americas. The role will come into effect on 1 May 2023.

In the role Jeremy will look to further strengthen client relationships with Financial Institutions and Corporates across Europe. He will also remain Vice Chairman, Americas until a replacement is appointed.

Jeremy joined Standard Chartered in 2013 and has held a variety of senior roles across Hong Kong, New York and London, including his current role as Vice Chairman, Americas. Prior to Standard Chartered he spent 23 years at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup in London, New York and Hong Kong, in Fixed Income and leading Asia Pacific markets. In 2009, Jeremy co-founded a fixed income agency broker, Amias Berman & Co., in which he sold a stake to Marex Spectron. He became chief executive officer, Asia Pacific, for Marex Spectron in 2011 and stepped down from the role in February 2013, on joining Standard Chartered.
