Standard Chartered has a history of over 160 years in the UK, having opened our UK office in 1853. Our headquarters is at 1 Basinghall Avenue, London, and both the Group CEO and Chairman are based here.

Standard Chartered is regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority and is one of the UK’s largest banks. We are a FTSE100 company listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1969.

In addition to the many Group functions based in the UK, London serves as the headquarters for the Europe & Americas business, focused on facilitating business across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

It is a hub for our Corporate and Institutional Banking business, and hosts a significant Private Banking Business for the region.

We opened our UK office in 1853 and our London headquarters is the main centre in Europe for Corporate & Institutional Banking client coverage. It is also a booking centre, along with Jersey for our Private Banking business and Priority Banking and Retail Banking services are provided out of jersey and in the Falklands.

Our EU hub, Standard Chartered Bank AG, which is located in Frankfurt, strengthens our presence across Europe and enables us to better serve our strategic and evolving European client base.

Standard Chartered is also present in multiple locations across North and South America, with our Americas headquarters located in New York. Our Americas franchise, through our Corporate and Institutional Banking business, is committed to providing financial products and services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and development organisations.

  • Torry has an extensive and diverse career in banking and financial services.
  • He was appointed Regional CEO, Europe and Americas and CEO Europe and UK in January 2021, holding the latter role until 2023.
  • He was previously CEO and Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking for the Americas at Standard Chartered, where he led the Bank’s North American and Latin American franchise.
  • Prior to Standard Chartered, Torry was the President and a Director of Independent Bank Group (IBG), where he was involved in all aspects of the Company’s operations, including spearheading its investor relations efforts as well as managing all of its financial institutions relationships and partnerships.
  • He spent 25 years in various senior management roles at The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon). His last position in BNY Mellon was Senior Executive Vice President, Sector Head, Global Client Management.
  • In his current role, Torry is responsible for all aspects of the Region, providing leadership on strategy, client relationships, risk management, governance, and regulatory engagements.
  • He serves as a Director of the Supervisory Board of Standard Chartered Bank AG, Standard Chartered Global Business Services (GBS) Poland Management Board, Zodia Markets Holdings and Zodia Custody Ltd. 
  • Saif was appointed to the position of CEO, UK and Regional Head, Client Coverage, UK & Europe on the 1 March 2023.
  • Saif joined SC in 2006 as Executive Director, Client Relationships & Co-Head Wholesale Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Limited.
  • At Standard Chartered, he has held various leadership roles across the client business including Head of Client Coverage, UK; Global Head of Global Subsidiaries; Managing Director (“MD”) & Head of Origination & Client Coverage and Co-Head of Wholesale Banking with SCB Nigeria; MD & Head of Corporate & Institutional Clients with SCB Malaysia and MD & Regional Head of Global Banking in Africa.
  • Before joining Standard Chartered, Saif held roles with Barclays Bank Tanzania, Barclays Bank Zambia as well as the Central Bank of Zambia.
  • Grant joined Standard Chartered in 2020 as Head of Private Banking for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and shortly moved into his current role as Head of Consumer, Private and Business Banking for Europe.
  • Based in London, he is responsible for the region’s Priority and Private Banking business operations in Jersey, the United Arab Emirates and UK that serve emerging markets clients across Africa, the Middle East, UK and Turkey.
  • Grant came to Standard Chartered from Brewin Dolphin where he was Chief Operating Officer and led development of technology solutions for client-facing colleagues and digital.  Prior to that he worked at Coutts, also as Chief Operating Officer, where he successfully ran multiple business development, change and remediation programmes. 
  • Grant’s career in financial services spans 25 years, having held senior leadership positions at national and international wealth providers.  He has a breadth of experience and knowledge in wealth management, project management and delivering business strategies to grow a company.
