Standard Chartered European M&A and Capital Markets teams advise on UK Islamic home finance portfolio sale

London, 3 August 2026 – Standard Chartered today announced its role as sole financial adviser to Gatehouse Bank on the sale of the economic interest in an established Home Purchase Plan (HPP) portfolio to Waterfall Asset Management (WAM), a New York-based investment management firm.

This transaction represents one of the largest Islamic home finance portfolio sales completed in the UK to date The portfolio comprises 1,770 UK residential properties and is valued at c.GBP£405 million. Approximately 40% of the properties are located in London and the South East of England. Gatehouse Bank will continue to manage the property portfolio and customers’ terms and conditions remain unchanged.
