As one of the Bank’s fastest-growing client regional franchises, our business in Europe and the Americas is pivotal to delivering the strategic aspirations of the Bank.

Standard Chartered has a history of 170 years in the UK, having opened our UK office in 1853. Our headquarters are at 1 Basinghall Avenue, in the heart of the City of London, and both the Group CEO and Chairman are based here.
Standard Chartered is regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority and is one of the UK’s largest banks. We are a FTSE100 company listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1969.
In addition to the many Group functions based in the UK, London serves as the headquarters for the Europe and the Americas business, focused on facilitating business for our clients across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
It is a hub for our Corporate, Commerical and Institutional Banking business, and hosts a significant Private Banking business for the region.

Torry Berntsen is Executive Vice-Chairman, CIB Europe, Americas, the Middle East & Africa, supporting strategic direction, governance oversight, and guidance to the Bank’s operations across the footprint. He also plays a significant role in maintaining key client relationships and developing critical connections with government officials and regulators. In addition, he serves as Chairperson for the Supervisory Board of Standard Chartered Bank AG which is headquartered in Frankfurt; a member of the Management Board of Directors for Standard Chartered GBS Poland; and, also on the Board of Directors of Zodia Custody Ltd and Zodia Markets Holdings Ltd.
Saif Malik
CEO, UK and Regional Head, Client Coverage, UK & Türkiye
Saif is CEO, UK and Regional Head, Client Coverage, UK & Türkiye. Based in London, he leads both the UK franchise and Corporate & Institutional client relationships in the UK and Türkiye. Prior to this role, he held various leadership roles across Asia and Africa including as Global Head of our multinational corporate business (Global Subsidiaries) and Co-Head of Global Banking for Africa & Middle East.
Grant Parkinson
Head, WRB, Europe
Grant is the Head of Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) for Europe, based in London. Grant’s career in financial services spans over 25 years, having held senior leadership positions including Chief Operating Officer at national and international wealth providers. He has a breadth of experience and knowledge in wealth management, project management and delivering business strategies to grow a company.
