Mark Willis

Mark Willis is Global Head, Emerging Payments at Standard Chartered Bank, responsible for the bank’s strategy and commercialisation of emerging payment solutions across tokenised deposits, blockchain payment rails, stablecoins, and agentic commerce. He leads the development of next-generation settlement capabilities that enable real-time, programmable, and always-on movement of money for corporates and financial institutions worldwide.

Over a career spanning more than 20 years, Mark has led growth, transformation, and platform innovation across the global financial services industry, holding leadership positions at Standard Chartered, Standard Bank, IBM, and Accenture. Recognised for bridging commercial strategy with deep technology expertise, he helps translate emerging technologies into scalable, sustainable businesses. Mark holds a Master’s degree in IT Management and has completed executive education programmes at MIT, Oxford, and INSEAD.
