Rajat Bhattacharya

Rajat is a seasoned macro strategist, with a track record of consistently generating excess investment returns (alpha) through asset allocation decisions. In an international career spanning over three decades as an investment strategist and writer, Rajat has been instrumental in interpreting the evolving macroeconomic landscape and formulating and sharing investment ideas with clients and the public at large. He has been based in Singapore, London, Tokyo, Bangkok and Mumbai.

As part of his current responsibilities as Senior Investment Strategist at Standard Chartered’s Wealth Solutions Chief Investment Office in Singapore, Rajat is a member of the Global Investment Committee responsible for global macroeconomic outlook. He is also a member of the FX sub-committee which is responsible for FX forecasts and outlook.

Rajat is also a leading contributor, editor and publisher of the Chief Investment Office’s flagship Weekly Market View, the Daily Navigator and the monthly Global Market Outlook publications, which serve Standard Chartered’s Private Bank and retail clients. He regularly appears on leading TV and radio channels to share the bank’s investment outlook and contributes opinion columns to leading newspapers and social media channels across the bank’s markets.

Rajat has a Master’s degree in finance from the London Business School. In his spare time, he explores his avid interest in Indian classical music.
