Global Head, Commodities Research
Appointment
Suki Cooper is the Global Head of Commodities Research for Standard Chartered. Based in New York, Suki leads the Bank’s global Commodities Research team and oversees its precious metals coverage, providing analysis and market outlooks across gold, silver, platinum, palladium and the wider platinum-group metals complex.
A recognised authority on precious metals and broader commodities markets, Suki brings deep expertise across market fundamentals, investor positioning, macroeconomic drivers, central bank demand, industrial usage, physical flows and the evolving role of commodities in global portfolios.
Suki is frequently called upon by leading top-tier financial media outlets, including CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times, to provide perspective on major moves in precious metals markets, the impact of geopolitical and macroeconomic developments, and the investment themes shaping demand for gold and other metals.
Career
Suki joined Standard Chartered in 2015 after 11 years at Barclays, where she was Head of Metals Research. Earlier in her career, she qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is the Chair of the Public Affairs Committee of the London Bullion Market Association and is an ACA Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
