#BSPSecuriTips: Think before you connect!
Public Wi-Fi networks offer convenience, but they may also put your personal and financial data at risk.
REMEMBER:
✅ Avoid accessing sensitive accounts, such as online banking apps and e-wallet accounts, when using unsecured networks.
✅ Use trusted cybersecurity tools, such as Virtual Private Networks or VPNs, to keep your connection safe.
✅ Turn off auto-connect feature on your device so it doesn’t join public Wi-Fi without your permission.
If your bank or e-wallet account has been compromised, immediately contact your bank or e-money issuer through their official channels. See the directory of consumer assistance channels: https://www.bsp.gov.ph/SitePages/InclusiveFinance/ConsumerAffairsDir.aspx.
You can also report scammers to the following:
- DICT Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center: https://cicc.gov.ph/report/
- PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group Complaint Action Center: https://acg.pnp.gov.ph/contact-us/
If the bank or e-money issuer has not given adequate action to your complaint, immediately report it to the BSP through the BSP Online Buddy or BOB. You can communicate with BOB through the following:
- Click on the BOB icon on the BSP website (www.bsp.gov.ph)
- Chat on BSP Facebook Messenger (https://www.m.me/BangkoSentralngPilipinas/)
