Standard Chartered continues to support young people coping with the economic impact of COVID-19 in Poland

on 30 Mar 2022

30 March, Warsaw, PolandStandard Chartered announces the extension of its Futuremakers by Standard Chartered initiative supporting Poles, aged 18-25, impacted by the economic and social fall-out of the global coronavirus pandemic. Funded by the Standard Chartered Foundation and delivered by Enactus Poland, the programme enables the next generation of social entrepreneurs to develop employability and entrepreneurial competencies.

Futuremakers has supported over 800 young beneficiaries across Poland since its launch in 2021. They were also given the access to many Standard Chartered employees who volunteered as mentors and helped participants to develop skills such as idea generation, business development, project management, marketing as well as presentation and communication skills. Standard Chartered’s employee volunteering programme entitles eligible employees up to 3 fully paid volunteering leave days during a year, which can be taken to support initiative(s) of their own choosing.

Standard Chartered is dedicated to the support communities in which we operate to thrive. Thanks to our employees’ commitment we are sharing our knowledge with young adults, helping them develop skills that will benefit their professional and personal development.

Anna Urbanska, CEO, Standard Chartered Global Business Services

Thanks to working with young people I can feel a strong motivation to be more active. Apart of being a mentor, I also learn from my mentees. Ideas shared can be very interesting and innovative, showing solutions that are out of the box. I’m a cybersecurity expert and now I’m working on marketing and data driven insights with my Team, which broadens my perspective.

Piotr Borkowski, Head, Red Team Operations & Information & Cyber Security Testing

Enactus Poland is proud to extend cooperation with Standard Chartered for another year. Together we are creating social impact on young people hardest hit by the economic consequences of COVID-19 pandemic. Beneficiaries aim to gain valuable entrepreneurship skills by taking part in our designed trainings.
