Standard Chartered appoints Peter O’Neill as Regional Head, Infrastructure & Development Finance Group, Americas

New York, July 6, 2026 – Standard Charted is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter O’Neill as Regional Head, Infrastructure & Development Finance Group, Americas.

Based in New York, Peter will be responsible for driving the Bank’s infrastructure and project finance business across the Americas. He will report to Abbas Husain, Global Head, Infrastructure & Development Finance Group.

His extensive experience in infrastructure and project finance, along with his strong understanding of the market, will further strengthen our capabilities in the Americas – a region where we continue to see significant opportunities to support our clients as they deliver critical infrastructure projects.”

Peter joins Standard Chartered from CIBC, where he most recently served as Co-Head of its US Project Finance & Infrastructure business. He brings over 20 years of experience in infrastructure and project finance, with a strong track record and deep expertise on advising complex transactions and working closely with both strategic and institutional investors. He previously held senior roles at Rubicon Capital Advisors and Bank of Ireland.

Peter holds an honours degree in business studies from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
