Bogus phone call and fraudulent sms messages purportedly from banks

Please be aware of bogus phone calls, Social Network messages and suspicious emails from organizations using names similar to our name and brand (i.e. SCB HK, Hong Kong Standard Chartered Bank), or people who pretend to be employees of the Bank to solicit fraudulent investments or request information. Those suspicious emails use our logos, our photos from the bank’s homepage or the fake employee ID card to mislead receivers.

Please note that the Bank will not ask for personal information through emails or pre-recorded messages. Do not disclose any personal information when contacted through suspicious emails or calls.

Standard Chartered Bank in Japan does not provide any support services (including overseas account opening support services) for Standard Chartered Bank overseas individual account holders. If you have any questions or inquiries regarding overseas individual accounts, please contact the appropriate Standard Chartered Bank overseas branch directly.

ACCESS BLOCK FROM SANCTIONED COUNTRIES

Standard Chartered’s Banking Services are easily accessible from anywhere you travel throughout the world, except in certain countries that are subject to international economic sanctions. Standard Chartered is committed to compliance with those sanctions. As such, we do not allow our products and services to be used directly or indirectly in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Syria.

Please note that we have blocked usage of the following products and services in these countries:

  • Online & Mobile Digital Banking Services
  • Access to Contact Centres
  • ATM & Credit Card transactions

Access to Standard Chartered’s products & services will continue to be blocked for as long as you are in North Korea, Iran, Syria, Sudan or Cuba. You can resume your use of these services when you are outside these countries.
