How to Qualify as a High-Net-Worth Client
Individuals / Sole Proprietors
- Meet specified asset thresholds.
- Demonstrate sufficient investment experience and knowledge.
- Have adequate risk-bearing capacity.
Corporate Entities
- Meet specified asset thresholds.
- Have adequate risk-bearing capacity.
- Authorized representatives must demonstrate sufficient investment experience and knowledge.
Important Notes:
- Before applying to become a High-Net-Worth Client, investors should fully understand that, due to the higher asset scale, professional capabilities, risk-bearing capacity, or professional investment status of high-net-worth clients, the regulations applicable to derivative financial products sold by the Bank and the investor protection measures available to high-net-worth clients differ from those applicable to non-high-net-worth clients and non-high-net-worth clients conducting derivative financial product transactions. These differences include, but are not limited to:
- High-net-worth clients may choose to invest in products with higher investment risks or more complex product structures.
- When the Bank sells or intermediates derivative financial products to high-net-worth clients, certain regulatory requirements may be applied with a lower standard, including product suitability/appropriateness assessments, product trustworthiness, pre-sale review procedures, disclosure of relevant documents, conduct management and control, and restrictions on incentive remuneration.
- Investors confirm that they have fully understood the financial products or services provided by the Bank and the responsibilities from which professional investors, natural persons, legal entities, or professional institutional clients are exempt under relevant laws and regulations. Investors also understand and agree that, after being approved as a high-net-worth client, when accepting financial products or services provided by the Bank in such capacity, the Consumer Protection Act and related regulations governing such financial products or services will not apply.
- Investors should understand the legal regulations and investor protection measures applicable to high-net-worth clients and should seek independent legal or other professional advice before investing. Investors must not rely on any form of recommendation provided by the Bank and confirm that the decision to apply as a high-net-worth client is made independently based on their own evaluation.
- Investors wishing to apply as high-net-worth clients may, after passing the Bank's preliminary review, be invited to complete a Professional Financial Knowledge Assessment to confirm that they possess sufficient professional knowledge to qualify as a high-net-worth client with the Bank.
