Standard Chartered Bank hosted an RMB roundtable in the New York office, in partnership with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). Over 13 key clients attended the exclusive event. The RMB and its internationalization continue to be hot topics following the shift in focus from the West to the East and China's increasing involvement in global trade flows. By providing forums such as this HKMA roundtable event allows the Bank to value add to clients needs as well as enhance the awareness of our leading capabilities in this area.
FRB San Francisco invites Standard Chartered Bank to join panel at Annual Banking Symposium - June 2013
Julio Rojas, CEO Americas, was recently invited by the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) of San Francisco to be a part of a panel at its Symposium On Asian Banking & Finance. This year, the symposium focused on "A Dialogue on Global Regulatory Reform." The panel that Julio was on discussed the topic of "The Global Reform Agenda and the Supervisory Framework".

Richard Meddings, Group Finance Director, was a guest speaker at the 2013 IMF/Federal Reserve Board/World Bank Seminar on Policy Changes for the Financial Sector in Washington DC, on June 7. He spoke during a session entitled "Systemically Important Banks: How transparent are they?". Richard's participation in the seminar provided Standard Chartered Bank with an international platform to showcase the Bank's reputation as an institution that is capable of providing valuable and significant insights into the Financial Sector.
Standard Chartered Bank participates in the Latin Finance Conference - May 2013
Standard Chartered Bank was a co-sponsor of the 11th Latin Finance Brazil Issuers & Investors Forum (BIIF) Conference, held in São Paulo. Rodrigo Gonzalez, Head of Debt Capital Markets Latin America moderated one of the panels to discuss "Basel III Implementation in Brazil & Consequences to Bank Funding". Rodrigo was joined on the panel by our very own Pramod Shenoi, Head of FIG Solutions and two others. They discussed about the new regulatory demands on Brazilian banks to adjust their capital structure in order to be prepared for further growth and how they see the strategies of financial institutions in light of this increased capital demand and the imminent Basel III implementation in Brazil.

Standard Chartered Bank was represented in this year's World Bank/IMF Spring Meeting in Washington DC on April 17 when Paul Clifford, Regional Head of Project Finance, Americas, joined as a panellist in a roundtable to discuss the topic of "How Private Public Partnerships (PPP) Deliver with Integrity".
