Terms and Conditions for the use of the Standard Chartered Push Notification Service

I. Scope of Application

  1. Terms and Conditions for the use of the Standard Chartered Push Notification Service (the “Terms”), serving as supplemental provisions to the Online Banking Terms & Conditions of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited (the bank), apply to your use of the Standard Chartered Push Notification service.
  2. Before register to use the Standard Chartered Push Notification service or using the Standard Chartered Push Notification service for the first time, you shall carefully read the Terms and fully understand relevant provisions hereof, and you shall have the right to require the bank to provide sufficient explanation about the Terms.  By undergoing the registration process to use the Standard Chartered Push Notification service, or using the Standard Chartered Push Notification service, you accept and agree to the Terms.

II. Terms and Conditions

  1. You acknowledge and agree that in order to use the Standard Chartered Push Notification service:
    • a. You must be a valid user of our mobile banking service.
    • b. You must install the “SC China” mobile application (the “App”) using a permitted mobile device.
    • c. The App needs to obtain your device push notification permission. You can manage or disable this permission at any time in device settings but push notification service may be restricted as a result.
    • d. You agree to receive notices and communications via push notification service, although the bank may send notices and communications to you in connection with our bank agreement using other communication channels, including email or SMS.
    • e. After you complete the registration of push notification service, in order to use the push notification service, you must ensure you have internet or mobile data connectivity.
    • f. You can manage or disable push notification service at any time through “Manage Alerts” in the App.
    • g. By enabling push notifications, you will receive birthday alert, Time Deposit mature/roll over alert, and offers & Product updates from the bank.
  2. The bank does not represent or warrant that Push Notification service will be always accessible, or function with any electronic equipment, software, infrastructure, or other electronic banking services that the bank may offer from time to time.
  3. Unless a law prohibits the bank from excluding or limiting the bank’s liability, you shall bear any losses arising from the following circumstances: any actions you voluntarily take to register, activate, use, or attempt to use the Standard Chartered Push Notification service, or your failure to successfully use the service due to personal reasons; instructions you provide to the bank regarding the push notification service; or any transactions related to the content of the Standard Chartered Push Notification service that are authorized by you.
  4. You agree to undertake any direct or indirect claims, legal procedures, legal liabilities, loses, damages arising from the bank’s actions in accordance with your orders or notices and all expenses (including all legal costs) which are of reasonable amount whatsoever and howsoever caused that may arise to be reasonably incurred by the bank in providing Standard Chartered Push Notification service to you. And you promise to indemnify the bank, upon the bank’s request, for the losses and expenses that the bank has suffered.
  5. Unless otherwise specified herein, the bank may suspend, or at any time and from time to time, amend the Terms and/or add new clauses. Termination, or any amendment of and/or any addition to the Terms shall become effective as of the designated date after the bank provides reasonable notice/announcement to clients. If you refuse to accept relevant amendment and/or addition, you may give written notices to the bank to apply for termination of all/part of Online Banking Services pursuant to relevant procedures (if any) of the bank. If you do not explicitly require the bank to terminate all/part of Online Banking Services and continue to retain or use these Services ON OR AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF SUCH AMENDMENT AND/OR ADDITION, SUCH AMENDMENT AND/OR ADDITION SHALL BECOME BINDING UPON YOU.
  6. If the Terms have an English version, such English version shall be intended for reference only; in case of any inconsistency between the English version and the Chinese version, the Chinese version shall prevail.
