Yes, you need to register for this SC Biometrics Login service. If you do not want to use this service you can use the existing login by using your Online Banking User name and password.

Step 1: Tap on the fingerprint icon in the login screen of Mobile Banking app

Step 2: Activate SC Biometrics Login service by logging in with your online banking username and password

Step 3 : Click “Enable” in the notification

Step 4 : Once you see the dialog box, place your registered finger at the fingerprint scanner in the device to complete the registration and login using SC Biometrics Login.

Please note: If you click “Cancel” in the dialog box, the registration is cancelled. If you still wish to use SC Biometrics login service, you have to perform the whole process again.

Yes, SC Biometrics Login feature will be disabled immediately when:

  • There is any change to Fingerprint/Face registered in mobile device (e.g. add or delete fingerprint/ face record);
  • There is any change to Online Banking Username and Password;
  • Another user login on to the same device using different Username and Password;
  • Biometrics login attempts consecutive failure

If more than 1 finger prints have been registered in your device before you register SC Biometrics Login service, any registered fingerprint can be used for the service.

Your fingerprints data stored in your device are encrypted and will remain protected. However, in case your device is lost or stolen, we recommend that you contact the service provider to deactivate the SIM immediately and inform Standard Chartered immediately.

You will be prompted to re-register for the SC Biometrics Login Service for security reason

You will be prompted to re-register for the Biometrics Login Service for security reason. Similarly, this will happen if you delete a fingerprint on your device.

No. You can only use Biometrics Login Service to login your Mobile Banking. For transactions, existing 2FA authentication will be used (eTAC).

Yes. You can disable this service by using the left menu in SC Mobile app. You can use this feature Pre & post-login from the left menu.

In this case, you still can download SC Mobile Banking app but SC Biometrics Login service will not be available. You can login by using your Online banking username and password.

Standard Chartered SMS alert service helps you remain aware of your Bank and Credit Card account activities.

Bank/Credit Card account activity

You will receive an instant alert by SMS in your mobile phone whenever you use your Debit/Credit Card including followings:

  • A fund transfer is made between your accounts
  • An ATM cash withdrawal, counter withdrawal or cheque withdrawal from your account is made
  • An ATM cash withdrawal , credit card point-of-sale or retail transaction is made using your card
  • A cash withdrawal is made using your card
  • Your personal information in account/credit card have been modified

This is a very useful facility that sends you information on your banking transactions. You will receive an instant alert by SMS in your mobile phone whenever you use your Debit/Credit Card. This keeps you up-to-date with your account activity.

It’s a convenient way of timely tracking your transactions and keeping yourself informed about your Account/Credit Card activities.

All individual/Non-Individual Account and Credit Card Holders of the Bank can avail this service.

This comes at a minimal fee of NPR 200.00 per annum.

No. If you have a Bank and/or Credit Card account with us, you will be automatically registered for the alerts. You are requested to update your latest mobile number with the Bank.

the default password is a combination 2 pieces of information:
1. Your date of birth

Yes. You can change your email address placing request through Online Banking/SC Mobile App.

To open the encrypted e-Statements, please use Adobe Acrobat Reader version 6.0 and above for your banking account e-Satements and 8.1.2 or above for Credit Card eStatements. Please note that you may not be able to open/print your e-Statement with a lower version than advised ones. You can download the latest version Adobe Acrobat Reader from www.adobe.com.

You can place a request to change the statement delivery mode from e-statement to paper statement with a notice of 15 business days before the next statement cycle date.

Please ensure your registered email address has sufficient capacity at all times and to add Standard Chartered’s email addresses Global.E-Statement-MESA@sc.com / eStatement.nepal@sc.com to your contact list to avoid potential spam filtering
