What is SMS Alert?

SMS alert is a convenient technology based service offered by Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd to the Bank Account and Credit Card holders. You will receive an instant alert by SMS in your mobile phone whenever you use your Credit Card/Debit Card and debit transaction processed in your Bank account.


Why SMS Alert Service?

It’s a convenient way of tracking your transactions timely and keep yourself informed about your Account/Credit Card activities.


Who can avail of this service?

All individual Account and Credit Card Holders of the Bank can avail of this service.


Do I need to register for this service?

No. If you have a Bank and/or Credit Card account with us you will automatically receive the alerts. However your latest mobile number should be updated with the Bank.


What should I do to update my mobile number?

Please visit our nearest branch to update your mobile number both in the Bank Account and Credit Card.


What are the types of alerts that I will get?

You will receive alert for the following transactions:

  • All Retail purchase and ATM withdrawal through your Debit and Credit Card

  • Other debit transactions of NPR 50,000.00 and above in your Bank account


How will I know I have an SMS alert from the Bank?

You will receive an SMS alert from sender ID “StanChart” in your mobile message box similar to any other text message.


What should I do if I receive alert for a debit transaction but I am not able to recognize the transaction?

Please call our 24X7 Client Care Centre at +977 1 4781800 immediately.


Which Cell Phone Operators” service should I hold in my mobile for this service?

This service is enabled for NTC and Ncell Mobile service holders.
