Agent Banking is an arrangement that allows a person or an entity to conduct business on behalf of a financial Institution or Bank.

As a Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania customer, you can conduct the following;

  • Cash deposit
  • Cash withdrawal
  • To conduct a cash deposit transaction, you will need, account name and account number.
  • To conduct a cash withdrawal, you will need your debit card and your PIN

You should not pay any fees to the agent. However, cash withdrawal transactions will be charged a fee automatically after you withdraw at an agent. The fees are displayed at the agent location for your reference.

Once the transaction is completed, you will receive:

  • An SMS notification instantly
  • An email notification (if already registered) before the end of the day
  • A transaction receipt from the agent

Ensure that you collect your receipt from the agent.

In case the transaction is rejected or fails, the agent will provide you with a receipt of the failed transaction.

You can perform your banking transactions at any Standard Chartered Authorised Agent. Look for the Standard Chartered Wakala sign.

You will only be allowed to perform cash withdrawal and cash deposit transactions in Tanzania Shillings.

Cash deposit transactions are free. However cash withdrawal transactions will be charged a fee automatically after you withdraw at the agent. For your reference, the fees are displayed at the agent location.

Yes, you can conduct transactions on Sundays and public holidays at any authorised agent outlet.

Any cash deposit or cash withdrawal transaction done via agent banking will show with a narration of AGBK cash deposit/ AGBK cash withdrawal narration along with the agent name.

If there is a disputed transaction on your account, please report this to our Call Centre +255(22) 216 4999 / +255 784 109999

Provide the following details:

  • Your full name
  • Account number
  • Transaction type (cash withdrawal or cash deposit)
  • Date and time of transaction
  • Amount involved
  • Receipt from the transaction

Note: Disputed scenarios may include the following:

  • Cash deposit/ cash withdrawal at agent premises not reflecting in your account
  • Cash deposit/ cash withdrawal at agent premises differs from what is credited/ debited in your account you should call the Standard Chartered Bank 24-hour call contact centre and provide the transaction details/ date and the transaction receipt for the teams to investigate.
