What is DuitNow?


DuitNow is a new service that enables customers of participating banks to send and receive funds almost instantly from one account to another, within the same bank or to other banks using just their DuitNow ID.



What is DuitNow ID?


A DuitNow ID is your mobile number, NRIC number, army or police number, passport number or business registration number.

FAQs

  • DuitNow is a new service that enables customers of participating banks to send and receive funds almost instantly from one account to another, within the same bank or to other banks using just their mobile number and/or Malaysia National Registration Identification Card number (“NRIC”) or passport number.

  • You can access DuitNow using the Standard Chartered Mobile Banking app or Online Banking.

  • Just login to Online Banking>Dashboard>Transfers>Manage DuitNow Registration – the select dustbin icon next to the DuitNow ID that you want to deregister and click Confirm.

    For SC Mobile, after login select the 3 bars at the top left hand, select Settings and Manage DuitNow Registration – the select dustbin icon next to the DuitNow ID that you want to deregister and click Confirm.

  • For any enquiries on your DuitNow ID registration, please contact us at https://www.sc.com/my/contact-us/

  • Your DuitNow registration can be done almost instantly via our Standard Chartered Mobile Banking app or Online Banking. You will see a notification on the screen confirming successful registration. You will also receive an SMS alert on your mobile phone upon successful registration.

  • You can link your mobile number or NRIC or passport to only one of your Standard Chartered current or savings accounts to receive funds via DuitNow. However, each account that you have can be linked to more than one mobile number or NRIC. For example, if you have a joint account, both you and your joint account holder can link your respective mobile numbers and NRIC to the joint account.

  • Yes, you can register an international mobile number for DuitNow, as long as that mobile number is registered as your primary mobile number in the Bank records.

  • If you delete any one registration type, only the linkage of the account to that particular registration type will be deleted and you will no longer be able to receive funds via DuitNow into the account linked with that registration type. Your other registration will however remain unaffected.

  • Yes, you can change your linked account at any time through our Standard Chartered Mobile Banking app or Online Banking.

  • Yes, you can. Please note that you can only use your mobile phone number registered in the Bank records. If you wish to use a different mobile number, you must inform the Bank first to get your mobile number updated in the Bank records.

  • A: First of all, you will need to login SC Online Banking or SC Mobile App to deregister your current NAD which was tagged to your old mobile number (For Online, go to Dashboard -> Manage DuitNow Registration; For Mobile, go to Menu -> Settings -> Manage DuitNow Registration). Once your NAD has been de-registered, you may proceed to contact the bank for your mobile number update. Please note that if you have not deregistered your NAD which was tagged to the old mobile number, the bank may deregister your NAD on behalf after your new mobile number is updated in our records. To use the new mobile number for DuitNow, you will have to register again by linking the new mobile number to your account.

  • No. Your registered payees for Local Transfers will not by default become your registered payees for DuitNow. Conversely, your registered payees for DuitNow will not automatically become one of your registered payees for Local Transfers.

  • With DuitNow, you can make a one-time transfer to a recipient‘s registered mobile number/NRIC/passport/business registration number. You do not need to add the recipient as a payee.

  • All your DuitNow transfers will be recorded in your account statements and the transaction description will contain the recipient’s mobile phone number or NRIC or passport number or business registration number (depending on which one was used by you for the transfer).

  • DuitNow is not intended to conceal your bank account details from the party that you are transferring funds to or receiving funds from. Therefore, if you use DuitNow to transfer or receive funds, the other party may still know your bank account details.

  • Presently, the bank is not charging any fees for customers using DuitNow. If the bank intends to charge any fees, advance notice will be given to customers.

  • No. DuitNow can only be used for Ringgit Malaysia (MYR) funds transfers between the participating banks.

  • Yes, future-date transfer and recurring transfers are supported via DuitNow.

  • Yes, you can. Just use the Switch function and select the Standard Chartered account that you would like to receive funds. The registration with another bank will be automatically deregistered.
