Our Journey

Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad offers trustee services through a significant non-bank subsidiary, namely SCBMB Trustee Berhad.

SCBMB Trustee Berhad is a company incorporated in Malaysia in line with the Companies Act 2016 and was registered as a trust company under the Trust Companies Act 1949 on 13 June 2012.

Apart from bare custody trust structures, SCBMB Trustee Berhad is also registered with the Securities Commission Malaysia as the trustee for collective investment schemes. SCBMB Trustee Berhad leverages on Standard Chartered Group for core banking and centralised functions which include, but are not limited to, compliance, risk management and internal audit for trustee services delivery.

Trustee services is a core offering within Standard Chartered’s Securities Services product programme and contributes close to 30% revenue for Securities Services in Malaysia. Standard Chartered offers similar fiduciary services across close to 20 of its markets, such as Singapore and Hong Kong.
