As the charity arm of the Bank, the Standard Chartered Foundation is used as a platform to engage with the community through various sustainability programs. SCF acts as an intermediate body for the Bank’s staff as well as members of the public to channel contributions to deserving communities within Malaysia.
Our focus this year:

Standard Chartered Foundation (SCF) collaborated with the Malaysian Ministry of Health (MOH) in a three year Intraocular Lens (IOL) project, bringing eye care support to underprivileged communities in the rural areas of Malaysia, particularly Sabah, Sarawak and the East Coast. The collaboration, from 2013 till 2015, saw over 80,000 underprivileged Malaysians being brought one step closer to eye care support, specifically affordable cataract lenses and professional surgeries. With a humble target to reach out to just 3,000 needy cataract patients, RM1.5million was invested on quality lenses, where over 4,000 successful surgeries were performed around the country by the end of 2015.

Standard Chartered is committed to raising USD100 million for 'Seeing is Believing' (SiB) by 2020, with the Bank matching every dollar. As at the end of 2015, they have raised USD86.3 million globally and Standard Chartered employees are the driving force behind the success of SiB.”
All contributions will be channelled towards initiatives organised within the three sustainability pillars of the Bank – Youth, Health and Education.
